Linen Socks for summer - where to buy?

I saw a little write-up on Bresciani linen socks in this months copy of Esquire. It caught my eye because they do bright summer colors, and they say it's moisture wicking and 3 times stronger than cotton. I usually destroy my cotton socks in weeks, so I've never been able to get any nice ones, and I'd love a pair of moisture wicking ones for hot summer days.

Can anyone advise on where to get any good linen socks? I googled them but had no luck.

I'd look for linen blended with something stretchy like spandex. Otherwise it's hard to imagine they would hug your feet. I have one pair of linen/silk blend Marcoliani socks and the first time I wore them I thought, what was I thinking? They sag and wrinkle up under the toes like an ancient pair of whipped-out heavy cotton tube socks. Maybe it's the silk. I did not see the Esquire item you mention.

Still for summer I will stick with quality cotton. Wash cold and hang dry and they will go for a few years. That has been my experience.

Any idea why you tear up cotton so fast? Is it from walking around the house in them?

Sometime in the late 90's or early 2000 I bought a pair of linen socks at PRL, at the mansion on Madison Avenue, during a late summer sale. I bought them for some of the same reasons you mention here in your OP (plus, they were on sale 50% off, so they were like $37.50 instead of $75...something like that). Anyhow, during the first wearing I discovered why I have never seen linen socks before (or since). They fall down and end up in a big pile around your ankles and in addition to that they start creeping into your shoes and end up a total cluster f*ck down by your toes. Just forget you read the Esquire article.

+1 I've had linen socks. It's exactly like he said. Total clusterfuck by the toes.

+2. I've had them and ran into the same problem. Never again unless they are blended with other materials so that they won't sag.

+1 Linen socks are a disaster. They look awesome... right up until you move your leg.
