What about local coffeeshop core? I find that no matter how much I spend on drip, my outfit 90% of the time is what is needed to go to the local coffeeshop to get my fix. For me, this means slip ons (belgian loafers), jeans and a T, baseball cap for the messy hair, and (in colder times) a cardigan or fleece lined down jacket.

I feel many who come by my local - especially on weekends - are just throwing things together. A lot of sweats, track pants and workout gear, but also unintended stylish accents like boots, clogs, coats, scarves, hats (in colder weather). It occasionally creates a vibe.

I read the entire thread because I like the aesthetic

But the reason I like it is because it’s not super calculated. I think if you intentionally try to put on a look you will miss it

I think if you buy a few articles of standard, vaguely preppy clothing in non extreme cuts, with an occasional oddball purchase, and just keep wearing the things for years regardless of trends, with comfortable shoes, you’re doing it.

But the main appeal to me is that you’re just wearing what you wear, without some theory
