Imo its easier to pull off a leather blazer if its a dark charcoal or dark chocolate brown instead of black, having said that I dont own one currently, but I did have a dark chocolate brown prada leather blazer, really really nice, leather was buttery soft but thin and drapey with a thin topstitched lapel, there are some nice ones out there but you have to look hard for them.

Ive seen a few brown ones that were very nice, on the shorter side and a bit rock-ish.

I bought a black one a few years back and never wore it. I think it looks like **** on just about everyone.

Uncontrol, that jacket is sick as hell.

The Valentino doesn't really come across as much as a blazer as much as it does as a regular leather jacket.

I've been looking for a good leather blazer for a while, and I recently bought this Valentino jacket.

It fits quite well (size 48/38, and I'm a slim 38). The quality of the leather is great, very soft and quite substantial, not the papery stuff you often find on designer leather jackets. Should be great in cold weather. The zipper + buttons closure for the front is a good design.. gives it a clean line even if you don't do up all 3 buttons (as in the photo).

Unfortunately Neiman Marcus didn't have my size, so I ordered from this Italian place called Giglio.com. Took a big risk not being able to return it (can you believe stores that don't offer returns on discounted items?!). They were able to provide measurements though, so the fit wasn't a big risk.

For a whole week my wife was giving me the gears about ordering such an expensive jacket and not being able to return it. She was convinced I would find some reason not to like it and end up losing a lot of money. When I pulled it out of the box and put it on, she goes "Hmm, pretty nice. Looks like you got lucky." Hah.

Damn expensive jacket in my books, but I figure it will last me a long time. The comment somebody made about brown being a good color is right on.. the understated tone seems to help offset the fact that hey, you're wearing a leather blazer
