Jeans advice for bigger (waist 38ish) guys

Hey all,

I am on the hunt for jeans that won’t slide down ******. Ideally, I’d like them to be fairly slim and mid-rise. I’m a 37 year old dad, so nothing crazy trendy. Just a clean look that is stylish.

I tend to wear 34 Heritage in both courage and charisma cuts. Meyer khakis fit perfectly and don’t slide down much, but I have no way to try their jeans.
I’m about 5’10 and have a 38 or 40 in waist, depending on the brand. I like stretch jeans.
Any advice? The local shop has Paige, Alberto, 34 Heritage,Liverpool, and then there is a Von Maur department store with the usual suspects. Any brands known for not sliding down on bigger dudes?

Fairly slim, mid-rise, don't slide, larger thighs, won't break the bank.

I am also a 37 year old (recent) dad, and am on the bigger side. I’ve been loving the Carhartt 1889 Relaxed Fit Straight Leg. I’m tall, too, so being able to get a 40x36 pair of jeans is great.
