I know it's a long 'o', but f you write it bu-roo-gu, it makes it sound like it is pronounced like the 'oo' in kangaroo, which it isn't, it's a long natural 'o'. So it's more like 'bu-roh-gu'...

yeah BU-ROH~GU :)

Derby: DAH-BEE

btw

The August issue of MEN'S EX is out today (available via Zinio etc...), with a special booklet/catalog of Japanese RTW shoe brands

I'm there about once a month for work reasons, and Nishinomiya is exactly where I have to go... I may pop in in September. There's also an apparently very good Italian-trained tailor I want to visit in Kobe.

We could kickstart nutcracker's Men's Ex/Last/Leon/whathaveyou translation project. I would pitch in as Japanese style magazines seem to be all about the content and helping others, while the likes of GQ and Men's Health are filled with bits, pieces and ads shoddily disguised as articles. Then again, I can't read Kanji so I may just as wrong about these *** mags.

Very nice!! :fonz:

Kind of amazing to see so many artisans coming out from Kobe....it`s really not a big city...
Col and Tailor Ishida (tailors), Bellago (leather goods), Spigola, Il Quadrifoglio (shoes), and a lot more...

Honestly, I find the recent issues a bit lackluster in terms of shoe-stuffs.
Have you seen the new Scansnap SV600? Amazing stuff, but apparently delayed `til Fall. Once I get hold of that, I can start scanning my old issues of LAST (I have 2 complete sets, don`t ask me why) without taking them apart :)

GQ Japan isn`t so bad either..... the articles are more in line with LEON/MEN`S EX than the US-version GQ...

 old issues of Last!!!

p.s., the most interesting things nowadays in men's ex is the corporate worker's profile. its the improved version of financial times' what people wear on the street column.
