These are exact replicas of the boots James Dean wore in Giant made by the same bootmaker using the same pattern and the same techniques.

BACKGROUND
Ronnie Stewart and Adolfo Romero started making boots in the 1940s and as business grew they were able to open a shop in the early 1950s in Los Angeles (hence the “Los Angeles” printed on the pull tabs). It was here they caught the attention of famed Hollywood costume designer Edith Head who commissioned them to make boots for several films, including those worn by James Dean and Elizabeth Taylor in Giant. Over time Romero amicably went his own way, the LA shop closed, and Stewart continued the business in Tucson with all the patterns and lasts the pair had developed during their partnership. Almost 75 years later, this small family-run boot shop is still making boots the old-fashion way – completely by hand.

BOOTS
These inlay boots are made from the same pattern approved by Edith Head for James Dean’s character Jett Rink in Giant, using the same materials and same techniques as the originals by the same bootmaker. By the way, if you want to see Dean’s very own pair, which were used to complete these boots, they’re on display at the family museum run by his cousin in Fairmount, Indiana (Dean’s hometown).
