I saw that in the WSJ magazine this weekend. Nice to see the Northampton makers are getting some press, although they left out a couple of my favorites, Alfred Sargent and Edward Green. LOL at the 3 completed shoes they chose to show though! I had never heard of Nicholas Cooper for Stamp Shoes before, and after that pic I'd be fine never hearing about them again!

It's surprising that Cheaney also makes shoes for Paul Smith. Didn't know they had made in UK shoes, aside from the Lobb collaboration.

From the article:

"Northampton-made shoes can range from about $300 for a classic brogue to $1,500 for a bespoke boot."

Where can you get bespoke for 1,500? I assume we are just talking MTO here.

Tim Little offers bespoke at 1st pair of handmade bespoke starts at £1950, 2nd pair of shoes handmade on customer last: £975.

And there are probably less famous makers doing it for a lower price.

Not all bespoke have pricing like John Lobb.

and Cleverley and G&G.

My point is that the prices range from 300 to 1500 is not really accurate.

Has anyone here done a Tim Little bespoke?

Interesting bit about Northhampton shoes being bound for export to Asia.

Do any of the mods know the geographic breakdown of SF traffic?
