Well, I have a new policy.
NO RACING UNTIL 100%. Went out at a 7 minute mile pace, hit the tunnel under McCormick Place where apparently they dont fill potholes and totally destroyed my fragile ankle.
It was amazing out, lots of beauties and no competent medics to tape an ankle.
So, I hobbled the next 9 miles in sheer agony.
I did get one good pic that I will post.
I need this ***** to heal.

At 7:00 a.m., it was hot and humid already! Did 7 miles in 50 minutes. Remember to remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

8.25 mile run with a track workout in 1:01
2 mile warm up
3x800
2x400
2x200
2.5 mile cool down
400m recovery between each except for 200s I did 200m recovery. Felt pretty good, although pretty humid out for Oregon.

6.8 miles in 47:59 this morning in Central Park. Summertime feels like it is here, it was hot even before 7am.

yesterday, after a long weekend in the sun, ran 4 miles in 32-ish minutes. Felt like a struggle.

Today, planned on sleeping in but the damn chihuahua woke me up at 4:30, so I took care of a few things and then laced them up for a couple of loops. 2.6 miles in 21 minutes. Need some really good sleep to recover.

6 miles in 39:01 last night (for a total of 12.8 miles yesterday). First double session this spring but plan to make it a regular thing at least once a week going forward.

4 miles in 31 minutes - a PR for me....

And this was done with forefoot strikes!!!!

I started off at a 7:30 min/mile pace but couldn't sustain it with the forefoot strikes after 2 miles - had to drop down to slightly over an 8 min/mile pace.

But all in all, I am thrilled. The forefoot strikes naturally prevented me from lengthening my stride too much and a faster cadence seemed to come naturally. Hopefully, this will also have the beneficial effect of increasing my speed over time.

My calves are already complaining..

I did use the foam roller extensively after I got done and hopefully my legs will recover in 48 hours. Intervals on Saturday...
