Heard on CNN today that Oprah returned to Hermes a bunch of (at least six) Berkins and other, similarly expensive bags.

LOL... The salesperson who turned Oprah away was probably a Scientology high priest or something-or-other...

it seems like many of the news accounts of this story differed dramatically . . . for example, the NY Post (it is a newspaper, I suppose) and NY Dailynews stories were a little off. But apparently the Daily News Reporter is firmly entrenched in Oprah's corner. But if she did actually buy 15 bags the previous week at $6500 a bag, shouldn't they have let her in even if it was midnight and she looked like Don King? I mean, is that a typical sale for Hermes?

you probably had not purchased 15 bags from them at $6500 a pop last week.
i remeber awhile back where i posted something i read about how european luxury brands limited their goods to asians. but, somebody pointed out that this was policy was in place towards everybody- white, asian, black, etc...

i'm assuming that this policy isn't enforced for major celebrities like oprah.
