I was in California

the last couple of weeks for the holidays

and spent most of my time living by the beach

at a friend's house.

Now that I'm back down south, I wish all the girls could be California girls.

I did drive through Compton

and I don't think they liked the songs I had to play on guitar.

Still, I dug their beats

and their dedication to being proud of being born in Cali-for-ni-A.

I think the next song the Beach Boys write should be called "Westsiiiide."
