This is actually not a **** idea. Many benefits:

A) The kids get a break from her/you
B) She knows that you care, and it won't really cost THAT much (although you live in Manhattan, so this is more like a $5-600 gift unless you hate your wife)
C) You can ravage her many, many, many times.

Can you take a seaplane? My father is taking my mother up to the Empress in Victoria from Seattle for the afternoon/dinner (couple days after that as well but could be abridged). It's her 60th so I hope she enjoys it but I was surprised that seaplane transport was not all that expensive...couple hundred but possibly within the parameters you were aiming for.

**If your really close to the city this would be pretty much pointless but it could open up some other options in Conn. or Mass. Ever had sex in the back of a seaplane? Almost as good as a hydrofoil.
