Any advises?

replace the shirt. its far too bold to go with such a bold jacket. perhaps a very subtle microcheck or bengal stripe would be better if you must wear a patterned shirt with it....but id say a solid shirt would be my pick.

Agreed. However, unfortunately, almost all my shirts aren't suitable for this challenge, I basically only have solid blues and solid whites. I'm considering commissioning a batch of patterned blue shirts, but I'm not sure which patterns I like with a BD collar (which is the collar that suits me the most, as I don't wear a tie often).

the older i get, the less i like patterned shirts. This is why i decided to sit this chllenge out. I still may throw something together tonight, but doubtful.

I think small discreet patterns are quite nice though...i highly recommend a microcheck and a very pale blue/white candy or butcher stripe.

@Caustic Man
I disagree, it's just a challenge, I'm not going to cry at night for not looking my best through one morning.

It was instructive to wear what I wore, I got some constructive feedback through my mistake and subscribing to the challenge was the cause. That's the role idea behind the challenges, right?

my dude. the only patterned shirts i have are small checks or stripes, most of which dissolve to solid. i will say though, an arsenal of only solid shirts is lacking imo. some basic small stripes and checks are imperative.

yes. the goal imo, is to learn.

Hell no....the idea is TO WIN!!! (kidding of course)
If you must keep this particular shirt, i think switching the jacket is essential. something in a subtle pattern...or a solid fabric in a color other than navy to stay in the challenge rules.

Yes, it does look better with a non patterned jacket.

(btw, this is an old photograph, not an entry)

Funny, that's my go to shirt for "denimwear", it does look good with a more streetwear outfit. Thank you, the jacket is bespoke, made from a 13oz or so Uruguayan donegal tweed.
