What does that pic have to do with the OP? Other than the fact that they're both wearing DB overcoats?

Most of the commentary here has been about sleeve length, and that guy, inexplicably, is not using the sleeves of his coat.

I'll be taking off 1" then as a start. I'm more concerned about taking TOO much off since I have yet to tailor most of my shirts. I've got a very fitted suit, and since the sleeves are the "right size" and my shirts are not, my entire cuff usually comes out and it looks horrible to say the least.

There appears to be a communication error between what I wanted and what Juan was recommending; I wanted to know how it fit and whether or not I should size up, and it seems that Juan interpreted my question as how I should utilize the jacket itself.

That being said, I think it's a rather versatile coat and I'll be taking it in today for adjustments. There's no real need for suits daily where I work, but I think it would look nice as a standalone or perhaps with a suit jacket/ shirt, nor do I think I'd ever look as bad ass as that fellow in the pic.

Thanks for the feedback, looks like I'm sticking with current size and resizing sleeves. That's pretty much it, which is a win in my books.

I posted the image because it pictures the idea of wearing the coat (a quite similar to the OP's one) ON TOP of a suit.

It's not just the size. That thick, long coat makes more sense as an overcoat, as the pic shows.
