Why does it seem like most of the higher end denim is made for lanky guys with thin lower bodies? What about the rounder stocky guys like mesomorphs and endomorphs?

I don't really get this impression, to be totally honest. I would say the vast majority of high-end denim is wearable for most body types.

If you stay away from the slim or skinny fits, there shouldnt be a problem. Alot of other stuff out there, especially the japanese repro scene.

How the hell can you afford food when your jeans cost $600 apiece?

There is plenty out there for people in the "average" category, which is very broad (I'd say that if you have a chest between 37-44", with a 5-10" drop, you are doing okay.) If you are an outlier (from extremely thin to extremely fat to extremely muscular), it is tougher out there. However, the majority of people should do okay. Of course, if you are super skinny, you can wear extremely baggy clothes, though I don't recommend it. On the other hand, there is a physical limit to how much you can size down (although Superfuturians are pushing this limit every day.)

As an endomorph, I've made my share of mistakes, but as stated in the post, unless it's APC(or Nudie, to a lesser degree), stay close to your actual size, unless you want some nut-huggers

funny, i think you're generalizing as much as the 'ectomorphs' are when they ask why so many jeans are geared towards bigger people and looser fits.

if you want to rock the skinny look you have to be skinny (duh). if you're talking about the really high end fashion brands, well they're the most marketed and why advertise with average looking people, of course they would advertise with skinny models--just look at women's advertising!

there are hundreds of jeans out there, if you can't find one to suit you then you're not looking very hard.

I'm 6'3 and about 175lbs, bootcut makes me look like it's 1975 again and anything baggier than a pair of regular ralf makes me look like MC Hammer

I agree 1000000000000%

(I am the identical height and weight as you, and I cannot stand wearing bootcuts. Even straight cuts look extremely baggy.)

The funny thing about this is that there was a poster that exhibited an opinion 180 degrees from this one a few days ago. I can't remember who it was though. Personally I like slim straight leg jeans. I can't stand any bagginess in the lower leg, it bothers me a lot, which is why my Okis and some other jeans never get any wear. Anything more relaxed in the lower leg than 5EP LDB aggrevates me.

I am glad that there is a fascination with ectomorphs for the time being, because I fit right in there and have been enjoying the recent surge of well-fitting clothing, even in the lower price brackets. Carry on

I disagree, mostly - I'm 5'9", 140lbs and I rarely if ever wear non-bootcut jeans. Sometimes even baggy bjonrns or real honest-to-god hiphop denim.

You just gotta rock it.
