I searched the the archives and found mention, but no real review of, the TM Lewin covert coat. I have a few TM Lewin shirts and ties. The quality is passable, but nothing stellar.
The coat is currenly half price (197 great British pounds) on the website. Unfortunately, the vendor is sold out of my size in a short. I would have to buy a regular, the sleeves of which would almost certainly be too long.

My alterations man said it would cost $145 to take the sleeve up from the shoulder. I also have toyed with the idea of asking him to put bottle green or purple velvet on the collar.
So, how crazy am I to be thinking of spening so much to alter what will probably be a middle of the road garment?
