Well, I am in so long as it is not straight chestnut. I have too much of that.

With your second color scheme, ie the chestnut dominating, it seems to me that the fall of the trouser/ jean is going to hide the saddle to a karge extant and it is going to look like a chestnut colored boot. Just my guess, and the reason why this second color scheme does not work for me as I too have too many chestnut/brown/burgundys to buy a $1000 chestnut boot.

So lets see if we can get people in for the inverse! Saddle lower, chestnut upper. Or all Chestnut.

Personally, I think chestnut lower, saddle upper would look best. But you should just discount my vote, including for Chestnut Dainite Combo Sole Robert. I should not buy a second pair of shell Carmina boots!

Well whether you should or shouldn't I'm sure we could debate here. But I bet we'll all welcome some photos of the pair you have. Post 'em, please.:D

Hey guys,

Sorry for the late check-in, I'm finally back at work after three solid days of working on shirts, trousers, and sportcoats.

Okay, for the Bal Boot, it looks like we're kind of split down the middle. I'm going to set up a preorder item later today with the following specs:

Saddle Shell
We've got inventory reserved on this leather and it's going to be brilliant for Spring. We can certainly run a Chestnut makeup for early Fall without a problem.

Forest Last
The Forest last will be comfortable and elegant, and allow customers to order in a wide if they need it.

Leather Sole
This is a luxury piece. Using a leather sole is probably a better idea to give it maximum versatility for dressing up. And Carmina's leather soles are ace. The combo Dainite might be better suited for a two-tone calf & suede or calf & scotch makeup project.

Blind Eyes & Hooks.

Antique Edge & Pull Tab

Forest Green Leather Liner

We only need 4 preorders to make the boot, so I'll put it out there with this mix. This is going to be a freaking gorgeous boot. Great job cooking up this style!

I thought whiskey was only for use by Alden??? Did you mean saddle shell? A fall boot in Chestnut would be better for me, especially if the preorder happened in the early spring. I pre-ordered the snuff suedes so it'll be until after those come in that i'll be able to put down another deposit. I think a bal boot with chestnut shell bottom and a dark brown suede top would be awesome. It'd be close to some of the MTO Edward Green Shannon II boots I see every now and then. With only half of the boot being shell maybe the price would be a little lower as well.

Yup, you're totally right, I mean Saddle. Sorry - I set up the preorder for Alden Whiskey wingtip boots earlier today, and got a little punchy.

And we've got plenty of time for a Fall makeup boot. With the order placed in April or so, we can be very confident of an early Sept delivery. I think that a shell & suede boot would be phenomenal.

Did we miss out on the availability of the chestnut shell? That was the color preference by a 2:1 margin. I'm sure you'll get your four for saddle, but I think the expectation was chestnut for this spring order.
