I've replaced the laces and one sole restiched in two years. They are still in good shape.

I have a few pairs of CP's as well as some older Lanvin's (before the outsole change) and I must say I have been pretty impressed with the quality.
Also just thought I would clear up, the outsole is cemented (cold cement construction). The stitch you see on the top is partially there for reinforcement but also for aesthetic reasons. This is different than say, a vulcanized construction like a Converse chuck taylor or Rick Owens shoe (the stitch on RO shoes is purely aesthetic).
As for CP's outsole, it's made of a very thick, highly dense compound of rubber that should last quite some time. It's why you might have noticed the shoe feels very heavy when compared to other (especially vulcanized) shoes. I was actually blown away at first as to how heavy they were but after wearing for a while, I forgot all about it.
For the money, I would say CP's are a bit overpriced, especially as of late. Seems as though over the last year or two, they have gone up in price by at least $100 at retail.
Creative Rec's Italian line is a good bang for your buck. Same factory, similar leather treatments and linings but for much less. I've been impressed with the ones I picked up (via the gilt sale a while back).

I've worn my german army sneakers for 3-4 years and they're doing fine. I can see a little wear on the outside back of the heel but that's normal and there is still plenty more life in the heel. I've worn them through multiple city snow treks, in the rain, walking for 8hours a day depending on the job i was working during that timespan, etc... They're pretty solid. I have a friend who has had his CPs like 3 years with a **** ton of wear in all weather and they've been consistently great too

I have 2 pairs of CP and my all black leather and suede mid is the sneaker I use most I've had them for 2 years I probably should get them restitched or get a new sole as over time they've kinda curved a little on the outsold but it's only because I got them on sale and were a size bigger. I usually wear 9-10 but more of a 9.5 but CP run big so that might be the reason but the quality really is good they have no fading or cracking like you'd see with other low end sneakers.

The sole on my CPs is about the same quality as the sole on my leather Adidas Stan Smith, same goes for stitching. The leather and lining is what differentiates the CP, CP is fully lined in leather, while the Adidas is canvas in the toe area, and the leather on the CP is much nicer overall. They're not gonna last longer, but they are a nicer shoe overall. I also paid more for the Stan Smiths, ironically Check these out for an idea of the quality, mine are MIJ, but same overall idea: http://cgi.ebay.com/Adidas-STAN-SMIT...item19bb5da9cd
