Yah, I'm not a fan of myself heard via some type of recording. It's not bad, but I've considered a voice coach. If it was more convenient I'd probably do so. ~ H

that is my gripe as well. i always figured my voice is as pleasant and manly sounding when i hear myself , but in reality it is not deep or masculine at all.

Surely it has something to do with way your voice reverberates in your head - as in your ears pick up the sound internally and externally. The internal sound is what makes it seem deeper...

I am fumbling around in the dark here but trying to apply some logic to it.

Any ENT specialists who can help us out here...???

My voice certainly sounds different than it does to me but I still think it sounds pretty good. I have a deep voice and slight southern twang.

As does everyone's. The vibrations or resonance or whatever the eff it is through your body causes this. I don't much care for my voice. I much rather how it sounds to me but that may just be due to the familiarity. My fiancee claims to like it (unsolicited compliment) but I think she's a liar.
