I'm partial to my Pelikan M800, I have two one with a fine nib for everyday use and a medium nib for personal letter writing. I also have a Blue Visconti Van Gogh Maxi and it's a sweet pen.

I have the old one (without the threading closure) in vanilla...Visconti makes excellent writing pens and I think this is one of their most beautiful (assuming you get vanilla).

I've never used one, but I recommend asking or searching here: http://www.fountainpennetwork.com/

FWIW, I use a vintage (1948) Parker Vacumatic fountain pen (image attached). It's better than any modern pen I've tried so far.

Since mine has a firm fine point, I also use a Pilot Vanishing Point in medium for signatures, and a vintage Pelikan 140 with a flexible fine point for copperplate calligraphy. The Pilot's ink filling system leaves a bit to be desired, but otherwise they're all excellent pens.

Aesthetically, my Delta DolceVita med size is my fav FP. It writes beautifully IMO as well though I find it to be rather wet, regardless of ink. I take 3 pens with me daily and I'm never without this one or the m1000.
