Cool furniture, design objects and desiderata

Any thoughts on the quality of Crate & Barrel's made in USA furniture? I like the idea of this sofa, and it fits our space perfectly. The price seems par for the course in the Crate & Barrel/Room & Board tier, and the fact that it's not made in China seems promising, but I'd love any feedback on price/quality (or design, if anyone has suggestions for something in a similar vein).

EDIT: not thrilled about the stock upholstery, but I assume their custom options are decent.

Is the recess around the sink set up so that you can lay a cutting board inside and run water over it (e.g. when filleting fish). If so, neat.

I realized that but that one seems too small and decorative to be useful, other than for like, bread.

my hunch is the inset around the sink is for splashing so it drips back into the sink instead of on the counter/floor and that the cutting board there slides out further.

I think the cutting board probably slides out all the way over the sink. It gives you more space when you don't need the sink and makes cutting board clean up easy.

I'm assuming you can also remove it completely to wash after using it for cutting meat.

The picture isn't bad, but the frame is on a different level. Very nice work.
