Understood. I love the shirt, so it was wishful thinking on my part. Sorta trying to wedge a square peg in a round hole.

You could tone the shirt down a notch with an appropriately informal jacket, but any suitable jacket (tweed or cord, for instance) is going to slam into those worsted trousers like a milk truck into a marching band.

Different shirt, or different trousers. Or wear what you like and tell the world to KMA.

You guys make jokes about our shoes? Don't you have anything better to do? No wonder the Empire collapsed.

Good colour combination but I'd also prefer brown calf rather than suede with those trousers.

I know this is slightly off topic, but what about chocolate brown/ brown suede shoes with white jeans/slacks? I've seen pictures on google before but I am still not sure if this looks good or not.

Thanks in advance!

If you are in to white slacks, brown suede shoes are the best choice in my opinion.

So you are interested in fashion rather than style? Or are you refering to the thread?

There is a joke often said in England that Americans 'wear brown shoes to funerals'. This is owing to their tendency to wear brown shoes in many inappropriate situations.

Thanks for clearing that up for me; I was unclear on the meaning of the expression.

EDIT: lol, didn't realize this was a necropost and that I'd even posted in here already.
