Probably $150/dry ounce, not fluid ounce. Only water weighs one ounce per fluid ounce.

I agree on everything said here ^^ (although never tried the Carr's crackers or blue cheese things)

Caviar can be a great finish on a carefully prepared dish. Gives a savory pop and an interesting texture mix.

We like all kinds. Red is preferred as a casual dinner supplement for an everyday meal - it is far less expensive - almost hilariously so - than its black counterpart. Of course, black tastes much better in my opinion, and gets peoples eyes to open wide.

Carr's are for home use when you just don't have time / energy to make blini. They're not as good, but they don't have a whole lot of flavor to them to overpower the caviar. Bleu cheese is really just for the sweeter varieties. If you do it with one of the uber-salty Iranian types, it might be a little over-powering. And on dishes... I forgot the classic smoked salmon pizza at Spago.
