I don't like them. They are too much "fashion" for me, but perhaps that's what you are going for. They are definetely not a wardrobe staple.

Hi all,

I am new to the world of high fashion and saw these SM shoes and was wondering if they were any good

http://www.shopthefinest.com/p-57162-sutor-mantellassi-black-shoes-size-9-us-8-uk.aspx

I am looking for a shoe thats: a) high quality b) fashionable c) reasonable priced

Please let me know I want to order these as they look great and original, hard to find in a black shoe :S

Those shoes are utterly hideous. If they're "original," let's just say there's a reason why some things are not done. Stupid ideas can be original and awful at the same time.

I guess the real question is whether you want to be well dressed or look absurd while desperately chasing some runway model-esque look. If you want color in your shoes, pretty much any shade of brown or burgundy would be better.

Thanks for the useless response. What's wrong with looking like a model? If you don't have anything constructive keep it to your self.

Thanks

Yes, I noticed very quickly that C&J are the favorite but I have not been able to find a handsome pair of C&J brown oxfords under $550 on internet retailers. Also, I am looking for something that not everyone is buying and can be found at a deep discount but is the quality that its retail price suggests.

At your price range (~$450) Crockett and Jones Benchgrade is what people here like.
I"d just like to throw my 2 pennies out there, I just emailed Crocket & Jones - New York, benchgrade Oxfords run in the neighbourhood of $800 - $1000.00 USD. Even Barney's has some models around the $750 price point.

A little more than $550.

Buy from UK stores. Either C&J UK or Robert Old. Significantly cheaper.

It's hard to beat Sutor Mantellassi footwear on sales for less than $500. There are plenty of styles to pick from.

You responded to a post that was more than a year old. C&J used to price their Benchgrade shoes in the $450 range back in early 2013. They raised prices significantly since then.
