Up for sale is a Barbour x Norton & Sons St Kilda jacket. Bought at a final sale. Turns out to be too large for me. Never worn outside of the house. Its design and quality are doubtlessly world class, as it is designed by the renowned Savile Row house Norton and Sons. All tags attached. Retail price: $900.

2013 see's the start of a new chapter for Barbour as they start a new collaboration between their Beacon Heritage collection and storied Savile Row Tailors Norton & Sons. Tailors to the gentleman of London since 1821, Norton & Sons are now under the stewardship of Patrick Grant and have applied their clean cuts and authoritarian silhouettes to a series of designs inspired by the traditional artisanal workwear worn by the fishing communities of the Northumbrian coast.
A unique take on Barbour's classic outerwear, the St.Kilda combines the expertise of Norton & Sons with the wealth of inspiration on offer in the Barbour archives. Constructed from waxed cotton with a slightly aged look, this double breasted jacket features a bespoke lining and inner set up incorporating the instantly recognisable Barbour tartan. The St.Kilda plays host to a wide selection of considered details, including the reinterpretation of a staple feature, with the tonal corduroy collar cut in a thin wale in reference to the uncut velvet originally used by Barbour. A refined and expertly executed design, the St.Kilda is finished with leather reinforcements at points of strain and a classic chin strap at the collar.
