A thread all to us Aussies. Cool. I've been a lurker here for a while, but never really been into posting. Always feel underdressed in here, as most posters seem to know A LOT about the finer points of menswear. It's quite impressive actually.

Who am I?
  1. Men style blogger (dmarge.com)
  2. In love with my first hand-made suit ( p johnson)
  3. Looking forward to the Spring Racing Carnival to bust out some rad suit, tie, shirt combos.

And tobiasj, it's not needy - just dapper.

Dope fine.

Had some time hanging around Footscray over the weekend so I went in to Savers to have a quick look, hoping for some nice vintage cufflinks and whatnot. Pretty rubbish I have to say, Lots of polyester suits and ties and among the ties only see an ancient looking E. Zegna and a Cantarelli. I did however spot an interesting looking pair of brogues:

Not familiar with the brand at all: de commiaso or something.

Looks like its blake rapid (as there is a row of stitching inside the shoe)? The leather soles are barely scuffed at all.

They are by de Tommaso.

As you note, they are blake rapid stitched and are quite nice. There is a store here in Brisbane (Xile) that sells them. Overpriced, of course, but that's par for the course here in Australia.

de Tomasso are one of the better shoes made in Italty. Did you buy them? If not double back and do so and if they are not your size sell them on here .If they are 44/45 I will take them.

Did you guys hear that Baubridge & Kay are in receivership?

Not surprising in view of the move downtown to Clarence St followed by "we're closing and going online".

Can anyone recommend a place in the melbourne conservative business dress that sells suit hangers? I've broken 2 in 2 months somehow :\

Yep, I live within walking distance of mei and picchi but only operating in normal business hours means they're almost impossible for me to get to.

Went down to the Brothahood op shop in the royal arcade after lunch today. $35 for a pair of used Thomas Pink cufflinks! You can get them new on B&S for that price!
