Are the colours ok?
The suit is really dark blue. Looks black sometimes, but I think the colour tone works ok with the brown shoes

I think so. Blue suits with brown shoes is a nice combination and pretty hard to mess up, IMO.

Sorry, assumed you were in NY, but then again you did say Rockefeller Plaza. I think J. Crew is having their Friends and family sale within the next two weeks, so you may want to hold off on purchasing anything you don't immediately need.
Obivously that suit is not one of them.
If you have an Allen Edmonds Factory outlet nearby they are selling some of their shoes 2 for $200 which is a great deal andwould make great starter shoes.

No problem. I never actually said where I lived (florida). That's great that J Crew is having the sale. I'll definitely stop by again. Might even pick up a different colored suit. My wife also liked their selection. I'll look for that Allen Edmonds sale as well!

The last piece of my wardrobe would have to be a bag/briefcase for my laptop. What do you guys recommend?

Thanks

The tie bars at The Tie Bar are made of "sturdy polished metal," while the J. Crew tie bar is made of sterling silver. The designs of the bars from The Tie Bar are nice enough, but there's a good reason for the price difference beyond just the brand name.

fyi, i have both a sterling silver j crew tie bar and a tiebar.com's tie bars... and the latter have lasted a lot longer... (the j crew ones are really dinged up)

There is an Allen Edmonds store in Rockefeller Center. You could always buy the shoes on the way to your meeting.

With shirt or jacket fit, how is the shoulder measured? Is it measured to the lateral deltoid (outside of the shoulder muscle), or at the end in the clavicle (the bump in your shoulder)? Where should the seam lie?

Hope this makes sense. Thanks!

I think most just measure the shoulders on a jacket that fits them well and take it from there.

Quick question! Been searching all over the 'net for an answer. I'm dying on the inside!

Anyways, was hoping one of you fine gentlemen could ID these sunglasses. They are obviously NOT Ray-Ban Wayfarers, these are much slimmer in profile and the temple arms are one sweeping shape. Thanks for your help in advance!

My nicest watch is a rolex gmt master II that i received from my grandfather when he passed away.

Is it appropriate to wear this watch with a suit to a business meeting?

Thanks

I'm not a fan of giant sportswatches with suits. A fair number of people do it, but it comes off to me as somewhat tacky to me. But then again, those watches as a broad class come across as tacky to me, so...

Not a comparable watch in quality (just an inexpensive quartz), but this is the styling:

You want something a little more subtle. Some here insist on a leather strap, which is more traditional, I'm not of that opinion. But the less obtrusive, the better. Generally, classy and refined should describe a watch to be worn with a suit. If it looks loud and self insistent, it's not really suitable for wearing in formal situations.
