Hello,

Pardon my newb butting in on an old thread but on the topic of square toes, I find them to be like Jennifer Aniston: ugly, but not unpleasantly ugly. Except, that is, for the ancient wingtips in my avatar. They're just plain ugly but I wear them just the same.

Thanks.

Hi everyone. This is my first post on SF. Very nice to meet you all.

I would like to ask the same question as the OP regarding these shoes

.

W
ill I be cramping my style by wearing these? They are still within return period so I have time to get rid of them.

I don't know if it makes a difference but I have size 8 UK feet.

Thank you :)

Those aren't square toed but they're still pretty ugly. Also, "wing tips" refers to the broguing of the leather, not the shape of the toe.

Look folks, Fritzl and chogall are right. This bolded part above is incorrect. "Wing tip" refers to the W-like shape at the toe of a shoe. Full stop. This W pattern may involve (and often does involve) brogueing, etc., but does not, in and of itself have to do with brogueing (case in point, the "austerity" wing tip).

For you guys to jump on Fritzl when he is correct (and not a mind reader since you folks are claiming he should have "known" what you meant) is uncalled for. He can be a bit abrasive, but he is right on this, so drop it.
