Advice on first post-SF suit

I'm trying to make my first real suit purchase and am weighing my options. I have unusual dimensions. I'm tall (6'2"), with normal shoulders (19") and waist (33"), but a thin chest (37"). I know, I know, eat more protein, lift weights....

Anyhow, my budget could go up to $1,500, so bespoke is out (I'm not going the Hong Kong route). I have two made-to-measure options in mind (Nick Hilton Studio or the English-American factory) but I wanted to solicit opinions on whether it would make more sense to try to get a ready-to-wear suit tailored. I've read some of the threads on the comparison, but I thought I'd ask for your opinions on three specific points:

1.\tIs it realistic to have a suit with a 42-inch chest (at the armpits) tailored down to 40-41 inches? Or would you never mess with the chest because it would mess up the armhole?

2.\tIf this is an option, would you not risk it if you didn't already have a tailor you trust (I don't)?

3.\tIs made-to-measure a bad option if your dimensions are truly odd? I've read that 38Ls can get 40Ls with waist suppression - am I tempting fate as a 37L?

Please be patient with a new member.

How did Nick Hilton Studio and English-American answer these questions?

If either is your prospective maker, you've asked them the same haven't you?

What's wrong with a 38L? Have you tried them on? Different bands will have different shoulder sizes. At worst try a few RTW to see if any fit you.

Did you measure yourself? Most people screw this up.

Don't want to gum up the works, but Nick Hilton's stuff used to be made by the Oakloom division of Hartz. Hartz was at one time, a few years ago, in negotiation to be acquired by Individualized Apparel Group's English American. Both were/are in situ Merrieland. If that transpired, could it be that Nick Hilton Studio is actually made by English American? So, your perceived dichotomy may be a false quandary. Just something to ponder. Of the techie reconfiguration one pleads incompetence.

Not that it relates to your question, however, you might want to consider a look-see at current eBay item #33037460037, if it's not too short and you're not above the suggestion. I know it's not a suit.

(If one has a 52" chest and a 48" waist, the same 4" differential, is one thin chested? Please be patient with my ignorance. Thank you.)
