I took this (custom) shirt out of the washing machine, and discovered a tear on the front left sleeve seam. It doesn't appear to be workmanship, since the tear is across the seams rather than along the seams. It's probably going to be expensive to repair since they will need to source a large piece for the front, and it's Alumo Zephyr.

Front or top loader? Regular or delicate cycle?

I've never had anything remotely similar in my front loader on "delicate" or "hand wash" cycle.

It looks like a fabri flaw. Almost like it snagge on something but the other seems stopped the tear. I don't know if its fixable. If you put new fabrics in it wont' match. How old is the shirt? I would bring it back to the retailer and you might be able to get a new shirt out of it. I've seen snaggs and rips like this in a few shirts and the manufacture will most likely replace it.

Front-loader, regular cycle. After that, I'm using the delicate cycle. Another shirt I have made from the same kind of fabric has survived so far. My guess is that it probably caught on something during the wash.

The shirt is pretty new --- this must only be its 2nd wash, and I took delivery in April.
