Found this Belvest jacket. Is it almost certainly a suit jacket? Since it is slightly too large for me, I am willing to trade it for something in my size.

Marked 42US. Chest:46" Sleeve:23.75" Shoulders:19.5" Length:31.0"

Close but no cigar on several items today. I left four $1.39 Robert Talbott ties at SA because they were 90's ugly geometric patterns. Those are the first really bad RT ties I have seen. There was a great Oxxford odd jacket at GW, new with the sleeve buttons in a pocket. This one perked me up, but a close examination revealed a hole about as big as this "O" beside one of the pockets. I do enjoy the hunt.

The tag seems to show that it is from 1996.

Do tags usually have the year on them?

I didn't get to the Goodwill today. Made the mistake of getting off at the wrong stop. Walked around a bit but it was cold out, so I didn't find the place. Turns out the place is supposedly in a community center/plaza so I wouldn't have seen the sing anyways. But it's in one of the better areas of the city so I'll try again.

Had some tie luck yesterday (havn't bought a tie in a LONG time...mostly because I have been going to GW and they seem to always have the worst ties possible).

I picked up:
J-Crew blue gingham...appears to be NWOT (still has the "remove before washing" tag and doesnt look like it has ever been washed). It's nothing special but it helped my craving for some blue gingham this summer..and it was $3
Two BB ties, one blue and one red
Red wool tie. Tag reads "CLANSMAN/all new wool/Owen Green LTD. London/Made in England". I have no idea about this tie and google was no help. It appears to be vintage and it is pretty skinny at 3". It felt nice and I don't own any wool ties so I grabbed it.

one or both of the BB ties may go into the trading post. If someone is particularly interested in any of the stuff I picked up, I am always open to trade suggestions (I can always find another wool tie, etc.

swung by the Goodwill today...picked up:

Gieves & Hawkes double breasted peak lapel suit in sort of a foam green color...has some spots on the lapels like something spilled on it or blood splattered back from a brutal stabbing...it's also close to my size but not a big fan of DB suits so might try to flip it

Pal Zileri double breasted peak lapel orphaned suit jacket (no vent though) in Loro Piana Super 120's

Pendleton tweed jacket with leather buttons, suede elbow patches, and suede shoulders... very cool piece

left behind a Pendleton belted wool overcoat...wasn't my size and didn't think I could flip it for much and it would be a ***** to ship...very nice though and it near perfect condition... there was also a really nice JG Hook overcoat with leather buttons and buttonholes but left it for the same reason

There is an old post in the SF archives giving instructions on using white vinegar and OxiClean for stain removal. It is amazing how often you can remove stains 100%. I have a couple of nice items which were most likely only available because others thought the stains were permanent. They weren't.

^^^ +1. There is a discount store I frequent that sells stuff from Neiman Marcus but most have store damage and are therefore priced very reasonably. Many things have small stains and I've came home, performed the Oxiclean/vinegar trick and they came out looking perfect. Saved me lots of money.

I thought the Pendleton jacket was pretty cool, so decided to share:
