I've read all 252 pages. all of them.

had some time to kill so I hit up a new (to me) salvation army today, didn't buy anything, just trying to hone my eye and see what I could find.

found three or four Hart Schaffer Max suits (one double breasted)
a canali shirt, some faconnable shirts...
these two suits caught my eye...

sorry for the ill quality pics, best I could manage in the "fitting" room at sallys.
one Oxxford for Neiman Marcus windowpane (they were asking $16)
and
one Centaur(?) made in Britain three piece gray pinstripe suit. (they were asking $22)

both had tags indicating 44in Regular.

I was thinking about picking them both up, esp the Centaur, jacket looked to fit pretty good as did the waistjacket... (sorry apparently my pic didnt save) only thing was it had yellow-ish spots on the waist/pocket linings, not sure if it was urine or what.

any commentary/advice would be appreciated.

will have to return to that store and get a real look around, I spent most of this day on the suits.

I saw an Hermes shirt once. It was nice, but I didn't think it looked too special other than those cuff buttons. It also had a couple flaws so I didn't buy it.

Picked up a nice charcoal Ralph Lauren Blue Label suit in my size (40L) today. It fits almost perfectly, which is pretty rare since I'm 6'5". I just wish it didn't have pleats...

Finally got a trip to the GW in after several very busy days at work. Worth the wait as I scored a 100% cashmere St. Andrews sportjacket in blue glen plaid (I've been looking for this very jacket forever) and a set of cedar shoe trees. All in $16.

I also saw a made in Italy Austin Reed outer wear jacket. It looked really nice and well made, but I decided against it. I'm not familiar with the brand, is it worth grabbing?

I've always found the Mark Shale Outlet to be more miss than hit, but on my last trip I managed to score a pair of Nantucket Red chinos (yeah, I said it) for $10. Can't wait for the summer.

Picked up a few odd things today, most notably a Lanvin tie and a 100% cashmere horse blanket sport coat labeled only Lebow Clothes (a men's store in MA).

I'm not entirely clear where I'll ever wear the jacket, but it was a good fit, so I couldn't resist.

Went to my local goodwill for the first time since joining SF today and decided to shop around in the suit section for a bit...

Being in a college town, I really wasn't sure what to find (especially anything for my tall & lanky build). However, I found a hilarious (for my 24 yr old age) 3 piece suit and paisley tie that I picked up on a whim.

The uploader is hanging on me, but the suit is a slubby grey plaid, and the tie is red with a paisley pattern.

The tie is from "liberty of london" (though says "made in italy" on the tag), and the suit says "Made exclusively for J. Tingus Men's Wear, Davis, CA (which is odd since i'm in the middle of PA here heh).

Anyone know anything of either of these brands?

I'll take better pics tomorrow and measurements on the suit and then put them on the Thrift Exchange

hit up the goodwill today, didn't pick up anything, other than a golf club and some golf balls for my son to putt around the back yard, but did find this Loro Piana by Rene Lezard 70% wool 30% cashmere number in a 42 (I think that's what the tag in the pocket read)

Made in Italy...

not my size and one of the label reads "Femme and Homme" under the Rene Lezard, that mean it's a woman's coat?

if there's any interest I'll go give it another once over and pick it up.

Femme and Homme means "Woman and Man". Not sure why they would use the English "And", but who knows. Probably a store that sells men's and women's clothes. A man's coat always buttons left over right, and a women's right over left.

Dont know if any of this stuff gives me bragging rights here, but I am certainly geeked about my thrift store haul from Minneapolis:

All from one store:

Doncaster Exclusive, Livington's Big Duluth, 44L (it's a little big, might be 46)

Botany' 500, M&K Man, same size, God I love ticket pockets:

Palm Beach, M&K Man:

This blazer, I wasnt sure if I liked it, but it was cheap:

LOVE this blazer:

And these ties:

The suits are a little big, I'm not sure if they need tailoring. I didnt have much time to try them on. I particularly hope I can make the blue one work. The blazers fit perfect as is.

I didnt take pictures of the stuff I found at other stores as it wasnt particularly as cool.
