No way!! I am liking Bobby V, and when Crawford gets back from the injury Red Sox are going to be on fire. We still have the best run-producing lineup in the league and our top 3 pitchers are above average.

I flew to Arlington for the opening day series last year.

I drove my (then) 7 year old son to PNC for the series in Pittsburgh.

I went to games in Fenway.

I saw them go 1-9, and a couple rain delays.

Coming out of Spring Training they are in disarray. They need to prove it to me before I spend any more money on those overpaid MF-ers. I am a diehard, longtime fan. They suck. They will need to win me back. Bobby V so far should be wearing a big furry mascot costume because that is all he is so far. He can win me over, but I ain't drinking no Kool Aid yet.

While this has nothing to do with thrifting, I think I got the link to the Thrifter Seller doc working, should be in my sig now. Cheers, all, and make tons of money on eBay because I like this whole culture. Did I miss anyone? PM me your seller ID in the subject, will add. Cheers.

PS: I grew up a TIgers fan in Ohio. While I am no longer a Tigers fan, I concur -- They are the Red Sox Midwest, except with way better pitching. 100 wins, easy. Prince Fielder and the rest of that lineup are you kidding me????

While we are at it - shell?

Just picked these up on ebay.  I was the only bid at 29.99 - but they got bumped up to $52 in the last 5 minutes or so.  They were not marked as shell, but I feel like they are... Any thoughts? I could use the confidence boost - that would bea lot of money to spend on half-sole-replaced, no V cleat, calf Florsheim Imperials.

I somehow doubt. What is the number? Did you check the spreadsheet.

They do look good tho. They might be shell. The thick sole says maybe.

Soft focus might be fooling me, you might be right catside

Pretty decent day in terms of ties:

L-R
Shevel's (departed local men's store) made in Italy. I'll probably give this to my father. He loves their stuff.
BB
BB
Nicky Milano (by far the nicest tie I've ever bought at a thrift. $2. SCORE!)

Although not a thrift score purchase, I was going through the pockets of a BB sport coat I bought a few months ago and found an old school black label BB bow tie!

Finally, I'd appreciate some fit feedback. First, I'm not 100% positive this is a men's coat, but I think it is. The shoulders are a tad large with a blazer underneath, but I think definitely still wearable, although I'll probably replace the outer buttons. The store puts all men's and women's outerwear together. Second, no label. The tags below are the only thing inside the coat. Is it possible that anyone knows the maker? Quality looks decent, although I know it isn't canvassed.

SIDE NOTE - Does anyone have a significant other (or maybe you yourself??) work at a store where you can get a good discount on davidyurman.com

It's hard to tell without being able to see a picture of the whole shoe. That said, HERE is a fairly recent sale of a pair of PTB's that were shell. Obviously, the numbers don't match but as shown in the spreadsheet, Florsheim's numbering scheme incorporated an array of numbers for the same product.

EDIT: The numbers do match :nodding:
nice pickup, at 50 some dollars, well below their value [depending on condition]

Those dickstains at Hunt Club knew exactly what they were doing when they created their interior label scheme.

Great finds. About the Zegna shirts: how recent is recent? I found a couple with the same label as the top two in your photo. Didn't know they were recent.

That Saint Andrews BB is an orphaned suit jacket, isn't it?

Recent Zegna shirts 15.5-16

Confirmed!!! SHELL!  Kinda stoked.

BTW, Catside:  Got the shoes in the mail - excellent.

Catside is very good to work with!

Glad it worked out.

I'll use the opportunity to thank Cardinal5 of AAAC trad forums for starting the hunter's guide to shell list which the spreadsheet is based on. Please add your finds and improve!! Currently we are missing C&J, RL, and Alden for BB numbers.

Also, decided to get this Zegna coat. Solid navy. Pretty sure that it's an orphan, and I tore up the store looking for the pants. Dbl vented. 3 button :( :

Not necessarily a thrift pix,but do you guys think it's obvious that this is not a SC? Would you wear it with jeans and/or chinos? Sleeves need to be shortened.

IIRC, that was made in Winnipeg, Manitoba. A variety of them in hunter green, NWOT, have shown up in thrift shops recently, mostly made in 1991 as your label.
