Because Holland and Holland, a gun maker, has ever only made one design of tie with shell casings on it? Finding a second tie design with shell casings is not anywhere close to evidence that Cotton Dockers's tie is fake- it looks pretty real to me, and a nice find.

Why'd you leave the nettletons? Never leave shell unless cracked.

Since this is like the only thread I post to, I thought I'd solicit some advice here. Got a job interview tomorrow and am trying to decide on a shirt/tie combo. Anyone care to give thoughts on either of the ones below?

Suit - Baldessarini

Shirt - Harry & Sons

Tie - BB

Shirt - Dolce & Gabbana

Tie - Brioni

And here's a thrift fit from the other day.

Coat - Michael Tapia (courtesy of DM7, awesome!)

Blazer - PRL (courtesy of mainy)

Shirt - Zegna (consignment)

Pants - Gucci (thrifted)

Scarf - No-name alpaca wool (eBay)

Briefcase - Wilson's (courtesy of GMMcL)

They're both real. My wife used to get me in to the employee sales at H&H when there was a location at 57th street. I have jackets with the shotgun shells from the second tie. And I have tons of sweaters with the same brown tag from the back of the first tie. I think the second shell motif is just older, that's all.

Assuming that shirt in #1 is white, I'd go with the first one. Neither look is objectionable, but the first one is a tad more conservative and that is the name of the game for interview attire.

Yeah, if you have an even more quiet tie, like a navy pin dot, that would be better.

This came today for anyone who cares. Should I wait to open it?! bounce2.gif

Nettletons are Alden level quality. Go get them if they are shell.

Thanks for the input. Here are a couple other options.

Also, couple finds from this weekend.

Gianfranco Ferre mainline blue checked blazer, made by Cantarelli. Unvented unfortunately.

NWOT Thom Brown sleeveless button-down. Think I'll hold off putting this on the bay until spring.

I seriously thought I'd get outbid at twice that amount...can't believe what a good deal I got.  You can't see the model from the tag, but I'm pretty sure they're the same M001s that I currently own (raw, selvedge), which are amazing.  So excited.

Holy bajebus!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You lucky dog, you!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Vintage Orvis Derby Tweed belted shooting jacket 3 btn. Made in England tagged 44. Bay

Big fan of this fabric

Cooper A-2 leather jacket. Made in USA 50R. Bay

First every Barbour find and doubt I will ever top this (unless the next one fits). 75th Anniversary Limited Edition Barbour International size 44, no belt. Had no idea what it was when I first picked it up but having done a bit of googling found that it was only in US J Crew stores for a limited time (winter 2010) and only 75 of each size were made in this particular style. Bay

Hard to believe that this was found in the burbs of Toronto as we didn't have JCrew until earlier this year.

Burberry 100% cashmere scarf - navy blue

Begg of Ayr Cashmere/wool (70/30) Black Watch scarf

Moncler knit wool/acrylic scarf. Made in Italy. Super thick and ridiculously big, had what appears to be a light bleach stain (pic) but that won't affect how warm it is.

Vintage Patagonia Snap T with hilarious sea creature pattern on it, wish it fit. Made in USA size XL. Bay

I remember that Patagonia pattern. Late 90s... I worked at REI from 95 to '97. It'll see if condition is good.

I always have an itch to open something on the 24th, so this will probably be it.
