Nope, gotta be craigslist or something. You will get crucified if you sell a known fake on eBay (and they catch it or someone reports you).
Used clothes are virtually worthless which is why they were thrown in the goodwill bin in the first place.
You wont find anything, its a damn nice tie though. Looks like great quality from what I can see.
I come across a ton of ties from Italy with all these strange maker names that you'll never see. Rarer to see French ties of this sort but I do see them. Dont let the lack of a known maker dissuade you, quality is quality.
I found a Huntsman tweed today. What is the difference between the bespoke and the "so-called bespoke?" The one I've got only has the pocket tag indicating the make date (1984) and customer. It is a one-button with working cuffs. I'll post pics when I get it back from the cleaners. Hopefully they will be able to get the 1" spot out of the fabric. It is located right next to the front-buttonhole so it is very noticeable.
I had a terrific day today. Recent Canali suit, St Andrews suit (tiny hole in pants, but still worth picking up), about 12 recent ties (Zegna, Paul Stuart, Armani), couple Robert Graham shirts, recent pair of Zegna wool slacks, 2 pair of AE shell cordovan shoes and the pièce de résistance... Polo Ralph Lauren hand knit 9/11 commemorative sweater. Looks like it should go for around $400 on Ebay.
^^Guess I'll just sleep in tomorrow, then...

Anyone know if Quoddy shoes are labelled? Picked up a pair that I'm 98% sure they probably are, but they have no label or markings.
D.

Sigh, if only this were not so... Something strange has happened to me this past year on SF. More and more, I find myself wanting a simple, unbranded leather tennis shoe to knock around in. If eBay allowed fakes, I could certainly find a knockoff of acceptable (or even similar) quality to those $500 - $1K shoes that are apparently just more subdued copies of classic kid models. (Something resolable is one thing, but a dirty tennis shoe? Argh! )
Gd, eBay, cut us a break, here. Allow (noted) fakes, already!
Will try CL, I guess...
That's the actual Savile Row bespoke. No big labels, just the customer name and date on a small inside label. The OTR Huntsman is and has a large black label inside the jacket. They are sold at Barneys in the US. I'm no expert, though. This is just my experience from seeing different pieces on eBay. Never actually seen one in person before. Maybe some of the Calif. or NYC folks could chime in, they seem to find a lot of Savile Row stuff and may know more.
Nope, can't see that either. I could see my label photos when I first posted them but now they just show up as numbered links. Hmm...Yes same here, I tried to add a photo to the end of my last post of a pair of Church's but it doesn't show up. Can you see it? When I quoted you I could see all of your pics in the editor window.
^^ Just a thought, but I always try the warm water on a wash-cloth trick. Tried it once on a spot that the cleaners failed to get out and it worked about 90%, enough to where it wasn't noticeable unless you really looked up close. If the cleaners can't take it out, try this first. Especially on a tweed jacket, it won't hurt. That stuff is pretty tough. I've even done this on Super 150s fabric with no harm done, but you need to be quick to follow with a hairdryer on high heat. .

I usually hand wash my cashmere sweaters, so water won't hurt cashmere. Traditionally, spot cleaning is how tailored clothing was usually cleaned.
I got caught in a downpour in a Paul Stuart sportcoat once, and feared all the horrible things that would happen to it. But I simply put it on a hanger and let it dry. It's still going strong.
