to all inquiring about the batshit coat (hey, I like that name...)

yes, it's an Oxxford, +1 to those of you who recognized the label *** pop quiz.

Sadly, no, I didn't find it - I traded another SF member for it. I'd be floored to find Oxxford outerwear period around here, let alone anything special.

The real purpose for that teaser pic (which is the other guy's - it's in the mail to me) is to bug csoukoulis about that similarly-sized Oxxford cashmere overcoat he traded me... ;)

That TF jacket is there right now?

I knew you would be all over that, Spoo. She posted that jacket to her FB page earlier this summer. You should contact her via FB, she responded pretty quick when I asked her about another item.

planning on keeping it. I traded a ton for it. it's ~46ish anyway, too big for you - and even guanaco isn't worth chopping down that far for you. see PM, btw.

sweet...now we can work something out on the one i traded you for since i had to sell the stuff you traded me for it since it was all long, and im a regular. Just trying to lay a little guilt :D

Nice haul, PM sent on a couple of ties, but are the white spots on this shirt collar not where the fabric has worn through? If so, it's probably only good for being the world's most luxurious shoe shine cloth (after you've harvested the buttons).

mainly bought them to experiment with cleaning methods/button harvesting

Speaking of button harvesting, would you guys thrift a suit to harvest a set of nice horn buttons? What would you be prepared to pay for the buttons alone (just looking for guidance, not resale value).

You can check and see what they sell for on B&S. I've started grabbing old shirts for this purpose; huge, gaudy designer crap from the 80's and 90's, but with head-sized MOP's. I have no idea what they're worth to anyone...but I pay between one and four dollars for a shirt, and one and eight for a crappy suit jacket.

i have SEVERAL shirts that are ok shirts with ******* BALLER ass buttons! I buy any garment i can find with nice buttons that i can keep as spares or swap onto another garment, then turn the cloth into rags for shoe shining, gun cleaning or car detailing.

Any Melbourne (Australia) members - I found a pair of tan suede John Lobb loafers (approx size 12) in an Op Shop a week or so ago. A little to big for me so I left them in situ - if interested let me know and I will pass on the details. Unfortunately I can't proxy as I don't live in Melbourne - I was just visiting.

While there I grabbed a pair of Crockett and Jones Langhams in black calf and a pair of Hackett loafers (marked "Belgravia") in a kind of reddish tan. Nice leather. The Hacketts had a definate C&J presence about them - so I wouldn't be surprised if they were by them.

I suspect all three pairs of shoes belonged to the same Anglophile donor. With a bit of jiggery pokery I have got the two I grabbed fiting okay. SHame the JLs were just too big.

I'm a Melbourne resident and happy to proxy if Selvaggio doesn't mind.
