Hit four places today and it was a total bust until the last store. There, I found 4 pretty cool ties. One older Gucci tie, one older Gianni Versace, and two NWT Hugo Boss ties.

Most will probably go up FS soonish, although if anyone wants to trade, I'm looking for some spring-ish (lightweight) jackets in 42xl.

This is partly a second test post so I can PM members, but I'd just like to say that there is literally nothing of value at any Utah thrift store.

This especially becomes an issue with used garments that have been altered. Sleeve length and inseam length become very important on altered garments. And yes, EU to US sizing can also be iffy. When selling a garment measurements are a necessity.

There's a measuring guide that Aharris did that someone will link for you (or do a search).

I had it close by as I just used it to measure a jacket yesterday.

Thanks. Apparently my sleep-deprived and tipsy mind demands simplicity and regularity. None of this four-different-ways stuff.

Likewise, I just don't look at it from a monetary standpoint.

I contacted the artist and confirmed authenticity/originality/current pricing on pieces of this size.

Can't show a photo as I may sell it and SF is viewed by more than just "us"...

Well, that would be a win. Nice one Moo.

The Versace tie is about 1999 or so, not that bad.

I just spent $750 at the Hollywood Hills home of a nice woman named Dagmar who I found through Craigslist. (The money was spent on clothes.)

Details to come, right now I have to make dinner and convince my wife I'm not insane.

I wondered that myself, but the construction and details seem legit. Here's another photo of the end of the tie (both look like this, with the content tag and perfectly centered logo on the lining.

It's not that I don't believe you, but what gives you the impression that they're fake? Edit: You're right! At least according to this guide (albeit with crappy photos), my two Boss ties appear to be fakes. Well-made, but fakes nonetheless. Win some an lose some I guess...

Oh, and in looking closer at both the Versace and Gucci ties, it appears that they are of very, very similar construction to the fake Boss ties. I done got schooled by someone...

So, I guess my day (well, 1.5 hours of it anyway) was a total bust.
