It had been very dry in my neck of the woods. The only thing I found for myself was a cutaway collar Canali. I have spread collars but this one is insane: the collar points point to my shoulders. Thrift fit to come later this week.

This is for the mechanics and the folk art lovers. This mechanics/work bench was in a charity thrift (the kind where street people come to get equipped). It was completely covered with auto and dealer badges. I thought it would be great in a tavern or diner setting but it would probably get stripped in a week.

I thought the lick test was the best way to tell. Didn't the thread come to a consensus that was the most accurate?

Trust me, if it's MOP, it will feel cool on your cheek.
I am a big proponent of the lick test.

First sight of spring today. Decent weather. Enjoyed every minute of it. Thrift fit.

Finally! Put This On has decided I am worthy.

I hope this leads to more traffic on my other stuff.

I found this great Lanvin Suit. It is a 38S double breasted and double vented. It is very nice and kind of heavy. I noticed it has a tailored fit to it. I paid $60 for it. Did I pay all the money for it? Does it look too dated? It looks like a formal suit more than a business suit.

I am guessing it was improperly listed and he "thrifted" it to re-flip.

The shirt actually popped up on my saved search...lol. Too bad the sleeves are for a T-Rex.

Awesome!

I know nothing about audio stuff, but remember seeing a reel-to-reel here recently. Saw this today, any good? I can go back for it.

Is there a date on it? I would pick it up if its old. You might want to get it even if its not that old just because it is cool and rare.
Unfortunately I was unable to find a date. However, I saw a little paper tab that was attached to the lining that said "Mitchell Sr." Thought it was pretty interesting. Hopefully the tailcoat will still be there after Easter weekend. I won't be invited to any white tie events anytime soon, but it'd make for a cool Halloween costume.

Question:  when you find a suit that is creased/wrinkled like that, how do you get the creases out?  If you have it dry cleaned and pressed, will that do it?  Is it something you can tackle with an iron at home (I'd imagine not...)?

One can iron a wool garment at home but I do not recommend it. That's a fast track to sheen city. There are wways to do it right, but you'd better do your homework.

Get it dry cleaned and pressed. That will kill all moths/anything else living in your garment, clean off the previous owner's dirt and press your garment -- all in one magical process.

Pair up a no notch lapel with one of those ties where the pattern of the blade blends in with the knot and I think you're automatically allowed on the air regardless of experience. They see you walking up and think "hey it's the new on-air talent, lets get him in front of a camera asap."

Please, please, please, don't put anything from a thrift store on your lips without washing it first. Touching it to your cheek works just fine.

Found a SC, "Neosartioriale Lubiam 1911" Just wondering where it fell in the Lubiam line-up. Lining damaged in a few places.

Anyone recognize this label? ***Edit: Norman Hilton, thanks MZHammer!

Passed on a Helmtut Lang White label shirt, had damage (hole, pulls, staining), a bunch of Tom James Filo a Mano SC's, suits, Navy blazers, a pair of fugly squaretoe Mezlan shoes

Stuff I DID pick up: Allen Edmonds Belt (avail) & a football to keep in the trunk for the impromptu game of catch
