This was probably my biggest lesson on here. Not everything needs to make its way out, especially if you're keeping it. I will say it is nice to see what people pick up, but for trade and purchase purposes. Much easier here than shifting through B

There was a NoVA thrift meet up and I wasn't invited? Scandalous! I have never been so offended in my whole...ehhh I don't have the energy to keep that going.

i found a Dior Homme leather cafe jacket about a month ago,posted a few pics awhile back.size 38 ,made in italy,made for the japan market,super soft.i think retail is $6000

What you see lots of is the licensed stuff, and the licensed stuff from the 60s through the 90s and early 2000s is crap. The odds of you spotting Dior Homme or YSL Rive Gauche in a thrift are one in a bajillion. So if you don't know the difference, it's safe to assume that if you see YSL or Dior, it's crap. Stuff from Macy's and JC Penney's in the 70s and 80s. Not something worth buying used at thrift store prices, much less bragging about.
The one Rive Gauche coat I found, which was from the Tom Ford era, was stunning. It was very, very obviously not licensed junk. It was clear. It was too small for me, but it went for a few hundred dollars on eBay.
Frankly, I think there are a lot of folks in this thread who could really up their thrifting game by focusing on identifying quality and wearability rather than reading brand labels.

speaking of lamps my vintage furniture lucky streak continues, found a Arco lamps from the sixties today (not a reproduction,the real deal with real italian marble base).
retail around $1500,i think i may have horsehoes up ******.

Picked up this pretty rad side vented Loro Piana fabric SC. It's green with a faint windowpane pattern. Seems to be almost unworn as the pockets only have a couple threads broken and the ticket pocket is basted shut. The fabric is 85% wool/15% cashmere. It's marked a 52R and is available for trade. I put the brand and materials tag in the spoiler. Any help with these?

Also found my second Baracuta, first one in my size and it's in mint condition. It's not a Made in England version, but should do still do nicely if I choose to flip it. Do yourself a favor if you find a British, waxed version of this jacket in half decent shape. I love Harrington style jackets, probably the most versatile casual jacket for spring and fall. If it's good enough for Steve McQueen, it's good enough for me.

Haha, the meet up consisted of (1) exchange of hellos (2) realizing there are way too many starbucks along one road in fairfax county and (3) good lord, it is cold outside.

That's an awesome find! Unfortunately I don't think it's an original Flos Arco lamp though. The shade looks a little off and the originals have a hole in the base (like this) to put a broom handle through for moving the lamp around. The marble base is so heavy you needed two people to pick it up.

Even if it's not Flos, it looks like a nice copy. Most of the clones have wimpy little bases, yours looks pretty substantial. If it’s vintage I’d imagine it’s still worth something. I'm jealous, good find!

i think you are right,its strange beacuse its definitely from the sixties judging by the electrical cord/switch.the ARCO came out in 62 and was a instant success so they may have copied it in the sixties already
