sorry to again de rail the thread but...
throughout my trades and dealings with all of you I have acquired quite a few nice items (most of them shirts) that just don't quite fit, mostly the sleeves are too short or a couple other problems but I was wondering if you all would be okay with me selling them to afford some modern tailor mtm shirts in a couple staple colors and a couple other items. I didn't trade/buy these from you with the intent of flipping them for a quick profit they just have for one reason or another not panned out. I would hate to upset one of you guys by you browsing eBay and coming upon one of the items you traded with me being sold.
so do I have your approval?
and again
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVE!

I'm always cool with that. It's yours now, feel free to keep, sell, donate, trade or trash it as you please.

Those of you that have seen these Harris Tweeds at Walmart, what's the largest size you've come across?

Back home (childhood home) for the holidays. I hit a couple stores on the way down with surprisingly little resistance.

No pics, sizes or details.

2 hickey freeman suits

3 piece tweed

Old label Burberry

Kowloon Hong Kong tailored glen plaid SC. I have grown quite fond of some if the HK stuff which often exhibits many of the quality extras we all look for.

A thrift visit wouldn't be complete without a Harris Tweed. Herringbone topcoat. 49'-'62 label.

A vtg botany tweed 3 roll 2 in sort if a strange burnt mustard color.

And for the money maker...........
A Willis & Geiger trench coat!!!!

Merry Christmas everyone!

I saw a 48L, but I only looked halfway through the charcoal grays until I found one to try on.

Awesome! I wasn't sure if that stuff would get there before the holiday. It made really good time. Glad you like them.

Still catching up on the thread... being on staycation and not being online has put me pretty far behind.

First here's the HF with LP Storm System bomber I found a week or so ago after cleaning the spills off and getting it dry cleaned. My GF says it's too yellow for my complexion, but it's too awesome to let go. Suede lining and under the collar, riri zippers, nice horn buttons

I had a chance to hit a couple places Saturday and had a pretty good morning. I picked up this gray tweed. I tried to find a reason not to but failed. It's got a lot of hand stitching, pick stitching, 3 nice patch pockets, full canvassing, the turn-under collar fabric, etc. and fits perfectly. Anyone ever seen this tag?

I found 4 HF suits over the 2 spots, 1 38R and 3 40R (all available). This one's a 38R HF for Gieves & Hawkes navy pinstripe flannel with pick stitching

This one's a nice light glen plaid 40R

This one's not the softest fabric, but it's a solid navy staple suit sized 40R

This one's a really nice 40R 6x1 DB gray flannel pinstripe in excellent condition, HF for Gieves

This one's my favorite find by far and it fits except needing to be let out around the middle... and maybe a bit short in the sleeves, but I can put up with it or get it let out at the shoulders. Silk / linen in a faded cool blue with pick stitching everywhere, hand stitching everywhere, surgeon's cuffs, patch pockets, completely unstructured, hand-made buttonholes, black MOP buttons... But check out where it's made
puzzled.gif

A nice pair of HF trousers, around my size so I may keep

A NWT Pringle lambswool scarf

An Orvis belt... Not sure what this type of belt is called with the 2 pieces on each side

Finally a W&G shirt with a small bit of damage but worth picking up I think.. Also has patches on the elbows

Here's the stuff from my SS package from TheWGP. A HSM Made in Italy car coat, very nice but a bit too big unfortunately. 2 Bunce Brothers sweaters that fit perfectly... The green is that old Cashmere that PTO talks about that's way better than current cashmere. The red is lambswool and I'm gonna wear it tomorrow for Christmas.

Some very nice ties. The Viyella is a cool cotton / wool blend.

And what's this? A Kiton 5 fold? NICE!

Bad pictures of thrift fits from last week before I started my staycation

Boglioli SC, Borrelli shirt from CaseyFud, RLPL tie, Saks cashmere pants

Bunce Bros cashmere sweater from TheWGP, thrifted BB button down, bow tie from CapnWes, HF made in Italy cords from eBay, TBNY shoes

Finally, anyone seen this tag before? It was on a very well made SC, but I'd never heard of it.

Merry Christmas everyone!

If one of said shirts happens to be that Canali I sent you - go nuts, as far as I am concerned, it's 100% yours!

This has been hashed, and usually causes controversy. Everyone has a different view. Fair to say if it seems like you're taking advantage, people are going to get annoyed. Clearly not what's happening here, and I, at least, never expect anyone to keep forever items they get from me. I'm sure everyone's going to have a view here, but at least from my perspective: Live and let live.

Grendel: Sorry my multi got lost. I've never seen that label, but the lining looks like several small shop MTM jackets I've seen. One was from up in your neck of the woods; can't recall the name. Interesting that a lot of these sole prac MTM shops use the same or similar lining....

Merry Thriftmas, everybody!

Found a bike at a shop today. Could some of you bike people tell me if I should pick it up? All of the parts that I could find has Sturmey Archer engraved on them.
Seat looks like a Brooks. If it's under.. 40, cop it.

Nice bike, but not really anything to speak of. If the rear hub is in good shape (looks like it's got internal gears) then someone might be interested in tinkering on it. If you're near Chicago I have an old friend who likes these.
