Mod to Suedehead

Hello everyone, apologies for my absence of late: my mind has been elsewhere. If there's something I'm meant to be doing towards the book, Mr. Mystery, then just get me told!

Bunty, about 'girls' shirts: the only ones I've personally seen are from the 'mass popularity' Skinhead era.

May I make a plea? It's taken ages for me to catch up with what I've missed (my fault entirely) and I am a very fast reader..... could the charming and, not to mention, useful art of paragraphing be employed more often when posting? Some of those long and rambling blocks of text are very trying to read!

Fully understand the single breasted argument with everything else, but when I first saw the pic of MoM's sheep, I thought it was double breasted due to the very generous overlap. The only difference would be three more buttons on the front.
So am I right in assuming there was a general dislike to double breasted garments on principal?

It is a funny thing.When I was a Mod,I did not mind Double Breasted.When it went through to Skinhead,I would not be seen dead in a D/B Jacket or Coat.As the early 70s came,I bought a D/B Jacket and that was it-back in.

For some strange reason im holding two pints in this pic, tut tut.
Scorcher do in Brum a few yrs back, it was very cold and most were wearing sheepskins, i did hear one of the barstaff say that it looked like a John Motson convention,

Very smart and I particularly like the Tonik clobber hung up.

Never felt comfortable in Double Breasted anything.Doesn't mean I don't think it looks good on others.In "Man Alive,whats the truth about skinheads"There is a guy,wearing a doublebreasted(I think)rust colored jacket with matching shirt with stripes around the neck and cuffs of his long sleeves.This guy was one anomaly(skinhead fashion wise)There is another anomaly.The guy with the turtle neck and flairs and white braces.He appears to be the center of attention .Question is" What are your thoughts on these individuals who flouted the trends?" he drinks that god awful larger stuff.
Funny you should mention Tizer they used to make it just up the road from me,
its a snooker hall/function rooms these days

I think that's a patterned sweater - not braces.

Roy has previously mentioned fellas 'taking a flyer' and wearing gear most of us wouldn't have worn... with varying degrees of success.

If you were confident and a natural leader, you might get away with it - then others' followed.

Alternatively, if you went too far, and were, like me, merely a follower, the piss-take would have been phenomenal.

Just as well the world has fashion risk-takers, really, otherwise we'd all still be dressing like cavemen/women, if no one ventured anything alternative.
