Or keep watching the B/S and crash your fingers, I was trying to get Lowndes a few weeks ago, no luck from Pediwear or Bodily's, but before I called a C&J store, I was in the right place at the right time, NIB Lobb William in black buffalo, then last week NIB Lobb Camborne in some weird brown. How rare is that on the B/S? In between there was a pair of brown buffalo Lobb William, but they were 7.5 UK , too small for me, or I would have snagged them.

I think there are two pair of Carmina double monks on the B/S now, but I can't remember the last pair of Lowndes there (August maybe).

Can you lowndes-owners buckle the lower buckle to the second hole? My shoes feel very tight and I can only buckle to the middle hole for the top buckle, and to the outer hole for the lower buckle (the one that is closer to the toe). Can this mean that my sizing is off? Do they give over time much?

Potentially stirring a whole s**tstorm of aggravation here but:

I'm young so totally cash strapped and really wanted a pair of Lowndes, as far as I could see the most similar shoe at an affordable price was the Herring Shakespeare II. It's got that slightly aggressive elongated toe (perhaps moreso) I like but only set me back £200. Whilst obviously not C&J quality I'm really happy with them as a pair for now (Going to upgrade to the Top Drawer EG Westminsters later in life though) so if any of you so far who've mentioned not having the cash for Lowndes I'd give them a look.

If I can get a single buckle black pair of monks from EG or either of the above brands, I am done with monks. So far, this is my humble contribution.

Regards :)

I bought some brown Loundes the other day. The first day I wore them in the rain. I know. I know. Bad move, but I live in England. After one day, the soles look like this...

It looks like at the toe the stitching was most reached. This looks really bad to me. Am I off?

It's leather. Leather wears quick, especially when wet (=softened). Not a big deal, even if the stitching is worn through the sole won't delaminate. Save it for a service...and replacethe toe with rubber or metal next time
