I like the ones in the G&G gallery although I personally would get a black pair. You might be able to do a pump like one too, depends on what kind of money you have to burn. The whole cut lace ups would work with jeans, with ceratin types of suit. that's a very versatile, contemporary shoe and it's got flair without flash. I dont understand the "bone" reference.

BTW when are your newbie's in?

Sorry, newbies? I think I'm meeting with Tony in the fall to get a fitting for a pair of oxfords if that's what you're referring to. The pumps are on hold for now as I fill out the gaps in my shoe collection with much more conservative, traditional designs first.

I just haven't gotten to accept the aesthetic of the opera pump bow I guess - perhaps another year or two on styleforum will change that

Evening slippers I like - Chorses pair I like

sounds good if it's not too much trouble. but i think i am leaning away from the opera pumps in general, despite the great last yours is on. i am still interested to see what they look like though. i could be pleasantly surprised.

no offense to all the opera pump wearers, but the real world pics have pretty much confirmed my suspicions that they aren't for me. I prefer the slip ons like chorse's that have a higher vamp and are more of a loafer style. since i don't really like patent leather, i am going to have to go with some non traditional finalists:

1)paul stuart formal calf loafers with grosgrain trim and no bow
2)crockett and jones alex wholecut on the 348 (with high shine for formal occasions)
3)vass plain to or cap toe oxford on the U (ditto)
4)velvet slip ons. I quite like shipton and heneage's paris collection velvet slip ons. they are on a nice, sleel last.

keep the pics and other options coming.

Those look a lot like the edward green ones I have which are nicely shaped and comfortable to wear.

They are Edward Green - for Alan Flusser - they fit great and were brand new on e-bay - I was at a Black tie event in the city and had many compliments.

Neither. I have long since been talked down from that tree.

Got a slightly beat up pair of Brooks Brothers patent pumps on Ebay for about $60. A local shoe repair person did a little bit of work on them; they still looked a bit rough around the edges, but were interesting conversation pieces (especially along with the silk dress hose).
