I use Vya, but that's because it's a little strange and so am I. Plus I like the cinnamon and spice topnotes. But it doesn't feel 'traditional' to me. Piobaire uses the well-regarded Stock, IIRC. 'Supposedly' the top end is Carpano Antica (had it in a drink in Houston that was stunning), but Noilly-Pratt and Cinzano are also highly rated. Heck, even Martini & Rossi's sweet vermouth makes a decent Manhattan. You'll need some bitters from the supermarket, too, ~ Huntsman

I just picked up a bottle of Woodford Reserve (which came with a Woodford Reserve flask as a promotional gift).

I also bought a 700mL bottle of Duvvel which I plan to consume at a birthday I'll be attending on the weekend.

Heh, thanks for saying that. The problem is when you're a collector, you desire to keep on collecting. Ah well, October 1 will be here before I know it and I'm going to allow myself a dozen or so cases from my fall allocations

Just went to BevMo and picked up a 1.75 L bottle of Belvedere, a case of Anchor Steam Beer (highly recommend it) and a good old case of Carlsberg English Lager (one of my favorites)

If any of you guys live in California don't hesitate to go to your local Beverages and More store, they have the most amazing deals on liquor and a selection of beer that no other store I have ever seen can compare to. They also have a huge selection of Wine and Champagne!

Can't do pics anymore since I cancelled my internet at home

I bought a bottle Puligny-Montrachet Les Combettes 2003 1er cru on impulse this weekend. I had it with a risotto and it was pretty good.

Other stuff I've been drinking recently, off the top of my head...

Ravenswood California Chardonnay (2006 i think)
Quincy can't remember the rest (2006)

Last night, picked up 750 mL each of Beefeater and Knob Creek, even though I didn't have the money b/c I had to get new tires on teh Kwilkmobile. Gotta have priorities, though.

Nothing major, just a Trader Joe's find. Gets good QPR ratings and seems to have the ability to age. For $20 a bottle, thought I'd buy a few and age at least two of them for several years.

Lawrence of Arabia should be in my mailbox in the coming week. Given the subject matter, I plan on drinking a gin and tonic when I watch it.

I read the wikipedia page and find this:
Gin and tonic - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

And I'm all like "Wow, do they still make make traditional tonic water with a lot of quinine?" Anyone know where I could buy some?

Those cuffs must be at least 2 inches(or 5.08cm, as he would say lol).
