i've been mulling over an indochino purchase for a few months now and i just pulled the trigger on an ad-man. the coupon code was the clincher; i guess they made me an offer i couldn't refuse.

i'm flying to europe in april for six weeks so i'm having the suit send to a friend's house in london. i'll consider it a minor miracle if the suit fits perfectly straight away so i expect i'll have to find a tailor in london to sort me out. i'll post pics when i can.

The problem I had with Indochino was they modified my measurements to what they "think" I needed instead of trusting what I had given them. This resulted in a suit that was too big in the shoulders and the hips. I might try them again if they get this fixed, but at this point, I don't see any way of getting a slim fit suit from them on the first go if they insist on making these default changes. They were however quick to issue me a refund, after offering to remake the suit which I declined upon.

So... what's it all mean?

I'm no tailor, but it's possible they use both, ie fused front and a full canvas. The fusing should stiffen the material, making it easier to work with. Then they throw in the canvas to add more structure and so they can say 'fully canvassed'.

Does this make sense? Any tailor here that can shed a light on this?

I am with Mike on this one, the more I read, the more confusing Indochino's manufacturing process becomes, not to mention some of the inconsistencies on the website.

I suppose I will spend a little more for one that described on the site as fully canvased, regardless the 25% off is a great deal.

Wouldn't that actually be more correctly termed half canvassing? Full canvassing does not have any fusing. Period.

I received an e-mail yesterday stating that my Tailor's Kit had been shipped from China. They provided me with a FedEx tracking number.

I recevied it today!!! When I got on the FedEx website, it showed that it left China yesterday. Indochino paid for overnight express delivery at no charge to me. Funny thing is, I received an e-mail from Modern Tailor stating that my shirt had been shipped to me at the same time I received the Indochino email. It is going to be interesting to see the time difference in shipping.

I must say, this Tailor's kit is impressive. You pick up to 16 fabrics (suits, shirts, blazers and outwear). They include 5 lining swatches, two cloth tape measures a horn button and the horsehair interlining swatch (states it is a compromise of mohair and wool). What I really likie is that they clearly label each swatch. When I received the swatch book from Modern Tailor, it was confusing since nothing was labeled.

Huh?
I ordered one as well (should be delivered today, 3 weeks in transit!)
How are you supposed to identify and order the right fabric if the swatches are unlabeled?

hi guys, I have followed this thread any many others for quite some while on the internet. Finally, I have ordered my suit from Indochino last week and now I'm waiting for it to arrive any day. I have noticed that Indochino reviews and forum threads are all over the internet, often outdated and hard to find.

Thus, I made both a Twitter account and a Blog with the aim to have an up-to-date link list about Indochino discussions on the web and also to keep reviewing and posting information about Indochino suits. The blog should be something like a first stop for potential Indochino customers to form an opinion and get helpful advice before their purchase. I am hoping that this is a valuable service and perhaps some of you might want to check it out or contribute (contact me with photos, reviews, problems!, etc.).

I hate nothing more than weirdos spamming message boards with their blogs, but I believe this is a bit different and actually makes sense. If not, pls comment here and I will remove it again!

I ordered my first Indochino suit a couple of days ago and I'm just wondering how long I can expect it to take with the standard delivery option. Is the time frame they give on the website accurate or am I likely to get my suit sooner or later than those guidelines? My other question is regarding fit so I'm not sure if anyone will be able to answer this being as the fit of an outfit is rather subjective. Anyway, I put my real measurements in to the form (with no adjustments) so is the suit likely to fit well from this or is it likely that I'll have to have a lot of alterations made?

Thanks in advance.

normally you are guaranteed to have your suit at your doorstep within 2 weeks from ordering, but according to the website it takes a bit longer at the moment, due to their rapid growth. I think they said it will take 21-28 days now.

regarding the fit, I put in the real measurements too and I'm curious how it will work out - I am quite sure that my local tailor will have to change some things - but for the next order it should be fine with the changed measurements

So here is my situation. In late March I went to Indochino to place my first order using the promo code redflagdeal (25% off, free shirt, free tie). Everything looked good, but before I submitted the order, I saw the Tailor's Kit. I ordered the Tailor's Kit and it arrived fast. I went back to my shopping bag and the code was no longer valid! I e-mailed customer service and they said it expired on March 28 and because of the recent growth, they felt they no longer needed to offer incentives to sell their product. This is disappointing as I had the shopping bag full before the disocunt expired and they can tell I want to do business because I ordered the Tailor's Kit and have a $29 credit that expires in 29 days. I also had no idea teh code was expiring on March 28 or I would have used it. We have communicated back and forth they did give my a promo code that is 20% of the suit.

Do you think it is unreasonable to be upset? My knee jerk reaction to to get a pair of cufflinks with my credit from the Tailor's Kit and wash my hands of Indochino because their customer service will not work with me. Modern Tailor would have made they exception....Please advise.

I'd be upset as well in your case - even if it's not a lot of money it's just very unlucky. Especially if the promo code was announced to be valid until the 29th according to red flag deals. I don't quite understand their reaction, it would not cost them that much to give you the 25% plus shirt...that said, the 20% seem like a decent compromise to me and I'd probably still go ahead and order.
