TEN TIES, FIVE JACKETS (10/5 THREAD): Fall-Winter Edition

In the interest of MOAR PICS, I will post the ties even though I don't yet have the pics of them in context with the jackets. I want to stress that these are my *seasonal* choices, not necessarily the ties I would recommend for a ten-tie wardrobe.

Knits: navy, brown, olive, dark orange, and black

Wool blends: Olive with red paisleys, plum, just lighter than navy, and green with just a hint of teal

Wool bows: Navy and mid-gray

Okay. With TweedyP's helpful suggestion of trawling my previously posted pictures via my profile, combinations of some of the above ties with five jackets. Those are a brown tweed SC with a bold check, brown herringbone tweed SC, a grayish brown tweedy suit, gray flannel suit, and gray worsted flannel SC with a small pattern and faint reddish overcheck.

You misunderstand me. I was talking only about that particular tie. Madder generally is one of my favorites for pairing with fall/winter woolens and flannels. (Tweed, it depends on how rustic or refined the cloth in my opinion.)

Not easy to find good ones, in my experience, however, outside of paisleys, which are fine with me (not for everyone, I know), but probably not versatile enough to warrant inclusion here.

Ah, it looked grey in the photo. That HY jacket above is quite nice too, though I think having more solids in a 5 jacket wardrobe is a solid idea.

Most of my jackets have linen and you wanted winter. I think only one of those jackets would be in a 5 jacket rotation of mine (the brown). Maybe the tweed suit.

Right. Feel free to say something about the jacket compositions. What will be of interest is how your choices are tailored to your environment, e.g. Texas F/W weather?

The tweed suit would be #1 on my list, but I live in a cold climate.

If I were building a winter wardrobe, I'd probably have an olive flannel jacket (I do), a blue flannel jacket (I do, but I didn't have any pictures of it with the tie), a brown flannel jacket (I don't) a tweed suit (I do) and maybe a blue donegal (I don't). I don't think any of these would be patterned.

The many flannels because a three season flannel is good for Texas winters while still being wintery in texture and look.
