Andres Sendra apprecitation thread

Sendra is a Spanish boot maker which now also makes men's shoes. They seem to fall in the same price range as Yanko, Carmina and Meermin Linea Maestro.

I know their GY welted women's boots which are of decent quality. Has anyone seen their new line of men's shoes in real life yet?

Some Q&A I received by e-mail earlier tonight (they are very responsive I found out, I got replies within minutes and it is evening here in Western Europe right now)

• They can make the shoes with closed channel leather sole, vibram, hybrid (rubber+leather) at no extra cost
• They can make 180, 270 and 360 degree welts (180 degree beveled waist shown below)
• The shoes are entirely made in Spain and quality, materials & construction are similar to Carmina and Yanko but more versatile

All our shoes are Goodyear welted.

Our standard sole is genuine Spanish leather sole, but we offer different types, rubber, vibram, etc.
Where do you source your crust leather from? Tanneries du Puy, France.

Also, do you use single or double leather soles? Any bevelling on the waist? Are they open or close channel soles?

These options are customizable, we use to make single leather sole, but can do double.
We can make beveled waist (most of the shoes in "patina concept" have it, please have a look at the website)
We do open & closed channel, just choose what you prefer. No additional costs on these modifications.

It would be great to hear from people who own a pair, and hear about some of the lasts?

Yes, they make great RTW shoes and boots for some well known international brands. Do not ask me names. .

I have the 12139 wholecut on the Jean last with fox patina. IE (not my pic):



The Jean last, for me, runs somewhat true to size. If you have a low instep it might not work for you. Overall it's a fairly generous last.

Leather quality and finishing is up there with the usual suspects in this range.
I've only bought this one pair so far but the level of service was brilliant. Will definitely go back for more.

Looks beautiful, this was one of the shoes on my radar, apart from the Collin last plain wholecut and monkstrap. I just bought a monkstrap from Yanko though (rather, about to tomorrow) so I might not be buying from Andres Sendra until later this year. I am really interested in their patina services, unlike other patina places they have a fixed set of patinas which are really nice imo, but you don't pay anything extra and you get the patinated shoe in two weeks!! That's an incredible turnaround time for patinated shoes.

Come to think of it, that pair is a Fox patina isn't it? It's beautiful!

Can you post some actual pictures of your pair?

Nothing handy at the moment unfortunately. Will see if I can snap a few dirty mobile shots when I find the time.
The colours in the pic I posted above are actually extremely representative of the real patina though imo. At least for my pair and on my screen.
My pair are about half a size or so too large though since I ordered them blind, so there is some excessive creasing around the toe/vamp.

As promised, sorry for the crappy pics though.

I bought a pair of 12146 when they started up their online sales. They've held up great and have been a good buy all-in-all but beware that the Boss last is rather wide:

Any thoughts from other gents?

The Patina model colors look nice.

Plus, prices are reasonable.

Sendra is located in Almansa, just inside the Castilian border with Valencia, right? I gather Magnanni is also located in that city. It would be fun to visit sometime: Goodyear construction at Sendra, Bologna at Magnanni.
