It's rubber not leather which is the good news, the bad news is that it's Louis Vuitton and they also still totally have to recraft the shoe so they'll probably want a couple hundred bucks at least, but they probably retailed for $1,100 or so, so that's not too bad.

They said I'll need to send it to a store to get looked at first. This is going to be a pain the ass I can tell!

I may just get the leather treated, cleaned and polished. Chuck on some new laces and give the whole shoe a deep clean, then rock them casually if it'll cost hundreds.

They're not unwearable; still rather comfy and whatnot. We'll see what happens! I will of course, post updates here regardless of which route I go down.

The thing is is that that black layer of rubber is not meant to act as a support for your body, it's a solid rubber base in which the support base is adhered to. In other words, wearing down the sole and walking primarily on the black may not be very comfortable and could actually lead to pain. The leather on those is probably extremely high quality and will last for ages, I'd take em to a leather guy, pay the 8 bucks or so to have them totally refurbish the uppers, and just splurge on the soles and get yourself a new pair of LV sneakers for next to nothing compared to retail. Plus if your rockin LV sneakers you don't want em to look all busted anyway, defeats the purpose.

But yea, it's LV, they aren't gonna make it easy to just get replacement soles for a pair of their shoes. They're gonna make it a hassle.

Well, could I ask for more? As a New Balance fan, and, menswear fan, these seem to fit the bill. I love how much attention New Balance puts into their made in USA / UK models.

Whoa.... I wonder if that collaboration is just gonna go over sneakerheads...heads... and get passed on, making them easy to get or if there gonna be some **** you need to camp out for or be quick on the draw at your computer the second they go live.

Anyone 48L and really into Brooks Brothers? Think I've thrifted half someone's wardrobe over the past few visits.

Depending on the measurements, I can sometimes wear a 48L. Most of the time I need 50L. But, I have a BB sack suit that is a 48L and it fits well. I might be able to have it let it out just a tad, too. Hit me up on PM.

I believe that's all dependent on the price point man. The trend with NB this year is high MSRP, 1 month goes by, sale comes up, they fly off shelves. My educated guess is a price point of $300+. They recently released a Horween leather 1400 (see below) and they were $300, and sitting. I am a bigger fan of the 1400 they did, but as soon as they went on sale, they were gone.

Very valid points there. I can't argue with those.

I didn't even realise the black was solid, I'll definitely get them checked out regardless. One thing I did notice is that under the insoles, there is stitching about 2mm above the base.

The quality of the boots is just mental (even in a beaten up state) The leather is so soft, but built like a tank. I'm certainly excited to get them restored.

I'm no 'sneakerhead', but I love my sneaks. All brands and styles, not just Nike, Jordan & Adidas.
These NB's have caught my attention big time, I wonder if I can get away with wearing them with a suit in the office.

Of all sneaker brands, I feel NB would blend best with a suit. Throw the Grenson x NB on with a navy suit...killing it.

This is a blasphemous statement. Don't ever do any of this.

Well that proves that that stitching isn't just for aesthetic reasons, they are stitched sole to upper, so technically they can be resoled properly. I'm no longer gonna give my 2 cents, its your call from here, I just know if I got those for 5 bucks and was a sneaker guy, I'd be at LV now.
