For the record, it was the S&M (downtown) tailor, since logically I'd try them first after buying a two piece from them. I'm tempted to let him fix it since they are all relatively simple fixes, but at the same time hesitant at shelling out more money (Xavier charges $75 for taking something in from the sides, which is super pricey).

I love Simon's (sales).

It has officially become my favourite department store to shop at.

Damn, thanks for the tip. I can see some brands such as Rick and Balmain that I was looking locally. Also strong sale section for sure.

I know of Simons in Montreal and I remember hearing they were going to open in Toronto. Are they here already? Where abouts?

Not in Toronto per se: they're in Mississauga at Square One. A nice 5-7 minute drive from my house, if I may add.

It's no Dover Street Market, but given that I like my contemporary/niche designer labels, I was :worship2: by the end of it. I was finally able to dial in my size for Monitaly and Sage de Cret, and I don't always need to go to Toronto to determine how I fit in Junya Watanabe's stuff. (Too bad I'm not into most of his SS16 collection.)

They have a good selection of designers, but their buys for a good chunk of them aren't very extensive. What they carry in store may not be reflective of what they carry online, and vice versa.

And Beware: men's mainline Rick Owens and Balmain aren't in Mississauga. They carry Drkshdw and Pierre Balmain, respectively. Funny enough, the women's designer section carries mainline Balmain. ;) I'm not sure if you can get them to bring in something from other stores without buying it beforehand, as I haven't tried that yet.

I'm assuming you've been to the stores I'm going to mention, but:

- Serpentine in Toronto for both Balmain and Rick Owens.
- The Queen St. Saks has a pretty decent Balmain section. I hope you're not looking for the biker jeans; they likely have been raided through despite a restock in April. Sandra, Sharon and Jacob are your go-to SAs in the men's high-end designer section. They've been in Toronto retail for a long time (10-20+ years!), know their shit, will give you an honest opinion and are all around Good People. And if you do ever go, tell them that Kevin sent you. :)

By the way, if you're into Sage de Cret and in the market for a fishtail parka, Simon's has an olive green cotton/nylon one that's almost 90% off.

The Saks on Queen? Do you happen to know what size?

If it's your size don't hesitate. I have one from FW15 with rabbit fur and it's the most complimented piece of SW outwear I own. Unreal quality and design.

Shoot, I meant in reference to Simon's. My apologies. This is what happens when you post while tired.

They have a L & an XL at Simon's, but I'll be returning the Medium this week because I determined that it's too big on me. I'm short and while I don't mind it being a little big on me, I just couldn't get into it. The Small was gone long before I first visited the store in May.

They also have a few other items (the linen work shirt that NMWA is carrying, a colourblocked long shirt in charcoal and navy and a funky black/gray patterned blazer among other things) in all sizes (but the I claimed the Smalls on the first two items). Sage de Cret's long-sleeve shirts in a Small fit me perfectly, no sleeve alterations required. THIS is why I intend on switching to Japanese brands for much of my long-sleeved casual wear.

I just hope that Simon's isn't discontinuing the brand like I fear it is; Simon's website no longer has it listed.

I'm a huge fan of SdC and have 3 jackets already. I need some shirts in size L, time to make a trip there.

I got into the brand's aesthetic last year and cannot justify buying from the USA without pre-existing USD for obvious reasons, so you can imagine how surprised and happy I was when I discovered it in Simon's. While I wish more people knew about the brand, I can take solace in that if it means nobody buys my size at the store! :hide:

I'm overdue for a new winter coat for when it's below 0. While the sensible side of me says to buy an OSC Cross coat and be done with it, the not-as-sensible side really wants to (somehow) try on that remaining rabbit fur fishtail that NMWA has in stock.

One more thing to take note of when you go to Simon's: they didn't merchandise the brand properly. There's no brand label on the racks for it + it's somewhat scattered about within an enclosed section. Look for the section that has OAMC, A.P.C., wings + horns and Diesel Black Gold. Thankfully it's not very large. The same goes for Monitaly if you're looking for their stuff,

Thanks for the tip, would you please let me know if the SdC parka had the rabbit fur liner?

It's from the SS16 collection, so no fur liner on this one.

Hey guys,

Putting out an offer for serious inquiries only:

Does anybody have any interest in NWT Ralph Lauren formal wear in either Black Label or Purple Label (the real hand made purple label)?

Black label will be under $900 CAD

Purple label will be under $2K CAD

We're talking SF prices.

These aren't from Harry's outlet.

Just thought I'd let you know that Rego Bespoke in the Financial District is having a clearance sale..

They're clearing out all their JM Weston stock @ $599 for any pair. They also have some nice Samuelsohn suits at $899 if you're a 40R or bigger. Some shirts at $99 but nothing special and some decent ties at $99 too.

Decent selection and definitely worth checking out.
