Was it in the right format?
Was the waxed flesh service boot disqualified for being too similar to last round? It was in the correct format and had two votes of support, though one guy took his back...

Model: Service boot
Last: 2030
Leather: brown waxed flesh
Leather (tongue): black or tan contrast
Eyelets: 4 dull brass + speedhooks, but don't care too much
Sole: dainite
captoe: yes
Comments: unstructured toe

I like the suggestions of the tan horsehide and the tan bison but both suggest a Dainite sole. While I really like Dainite, I wonder if there was a way that the actual sole would match better with the natural midsole (if the midsole is natural). I know Dainite makes a red sole but do they make a brownish or tan sole that would match better? I'd even prefer leather for that matter as it would match better.

Comments?

So are any of you guys looking for the 2030 service boot in one makeup or another willing to consider an 8-inch version for something different? I'm open to any leather at this point. I just want to get a gauge on who would actually be into this and see if we can't get a joint effort going. There are plenty of service boot make ups on the list already, surely we can combine ideas?

Well, if cordovan is probably out, I suggest this also:

Model: Service boot
Last: 2030
Leather: brown french calf
Leather (tongue): brown french calf
Eyelets: 10 antique brass
Sole: dainite
Comments: partially structured toe

No need for this one since Viberg's coming out with this makeup on their website soon.

"The Gentleman's ****-kicker"
Model: Service boot
Last: 2030
Leather: Black calf (not matte)
Leather (tongue): Black calf
Eyelets: 8 blind (this is not up for debate. It's necessary to keep the understated sophistication.)
Sole: Cats paw heal with Vibram 269 sole; or Dainite, natural midsole
Comments: Partially structured toe. Brogue toe cap. No ankle band. YOU F***ers KNOW YOU WANT THIS!

Will this be added to the front?

I don't have a makeup which would be definitively better than any of the above, nearly all of which I really like, but just some general thoughts:

- for a contrast tongue on the waxed flesh, perhaps using the reverse of the same leather would be interesting

- red dainite with the natural CXL is a really nice detail

- I'd like to see a partially structured toe, the unstructured toe I have is collapsing and the fully structured is a bit too 1950s-dispatch-rider for me

- not to harp on cordovan, but if the issue is availability perhaps the less in-demand colours like black or navy might be a possibility? especially as they are darker

- no one ever proposes a country boot, have they just been overlooked or is it that no one likes them?

Don't know which one you are referring in your picture but my make has 2030 last, 10 eyelets. Edited my post to give a better idea what I'm suggesting; something to replace my initial brandy shell cordovan make if shell is unavailable.
