Which outfit would be best here?

I picked up a few items at a thrift store to dress nice for an interview. Never had a suite before but I am enjoying this.

Which do you think would be best for an interview.

Tan suite, if I go with this I think I need to find some brown shoes.

This is a dark green/brown suite - I like this one the most but I need to shorten the legs a bit.

This is a grey sports coat with black pants. I have read that gray is best for an interview but I don't think it looks that good...

I also have a couple other ties to try.

And in case your interested, this is everything I have. Not including my sweaters.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Mike

These all look dreadful and are not really suitable for an interview. The tan thing should be burned, the double breasted looks what it is, second hand and old and one would not wear a sports jacket to an interview in most trades. Why not buy something decent for interviews rather than relying upon second hand clothes?

What do you sit on if you have never had a "suite" before?

Unique, don't take offence at GBR. He is a miserable cock to everyone - not just to you.

What sort of job is it - office, counter, customer service or outdoors? Whatever the answer, the tan suit is too casual for an interview. (Tan is also difficult for the larger gent - and I count myself as one - because it tends to exaggerate one's dimensions.) If any of the first three categories of job, the DB or the SC should be OK depending on which. Is only wear the DB if it was a more formal type of job, or if it is an environment where you must wear a suit, and even then they can invite comment. White or light blue shirt. The darker green tie from that selection.

The second suit could be tailored into adequacy. But it's not for an interview (usually that should be dark gray or navy and single-breasted). This is kind of a case report on why a style 'noob' shouldn't do much important thrift shopping.

To the layman, almost any of those would work (though the shoes must go). You cannot wear the 6x1 suit, especially with the trouser legs too long. If your goal is to stand out in your dress, you must keep searching.

Please don't take this the wrong way, you have there is mediocre (though not half as bad as my first attempt!). Expect excoriation if you post fits like that. This is a community of, for the most part, hardline traditionalists. There's a good reason for that; it works! I'm 20. I joined this board at 18; I've learned more than I could have ever dreamed. The first few months will probably be rough, but in no time, you'll be waaaaay in the upper echelon. Just keep at it.

I would do a lot of reading. "The What are you Wearing Today" thread can be quite helpful; for the last word in doing it right, however, I'd read the last three hundred pages or so of Whnay.'s good taste thread.

New here myself but the only outfit that seems to work for you at all is the sport coat and slacks and as others have said, it may be too casual for an interview (depending on the kind of job you are looking at). The tan is horrible looking and the double breasted suit is nice but just looks wrong for some reason. I think it may need to be tailored as others have said. Good luck either way.

yes, the grey sportcoart and black pant look serious enought for a job interview. The tan suit is not the best for a Job interview I think, the same for the double breasted
